Question about Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 Web Camera

1 Answer

Can't re-install the soft. 4 files from Registry unable to delete

Windows XP. Ms Lifecam VX-300. Due to a malfunctioning I wanted to re-install the software. I deleted manually the files from C drive, because on the Control Panel , at Add/Remove Progr. it was no button for remove. Now , I used Start/Run/ REGEDIT and manually I erased all the files "Microsoft Life Cam" from registry, EXCEPT 4 FILES under USB directory , that can't be erased. When I tried to re-install from CD, the message is that the program is already installed. I used F8- Safe Mode, Control Panel, but there is no program there to remove.
Please advise , how to delete these 4 files from Registry.
Thank you. Nick

I have a microsoft lifecam vx-6000, and have instaled the software for it, my computer says new found web cam, but when i try to open it, im told the soft ware cant be found, and told to put the disk back...

1. You possibly will need to go to the manufacturers web site and download the the latest drivers for your Lifecam which may not be backward compatible with your operating system (Windows).
2. If you are running Windows 7 you may want to run the "compatibility wizard" to see if your camera's software will run in another Windows operating system mode Ex. Windows 98 or XP \
I hope this helps. Have a great day

Software Installation of Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000 terminates with an error "Insufficient free space"

I purchaased MS Lifecam from Walmart at a bargain price of $50.00 yesterday. I quickly installed the s/w on my windows 2003 XP under 5 mins. The camera worked for exactly 20 mins. I opted out from installing the Live Messanger ( don't need it). However the s/w crashed within 20 mins, complaining of a fatal error, which it could not Debug, but insisted on sending off the report to MS..which I declined. After trying to reload the s/w on the same computer for 3 more times, which involved remove and re-install..I finally gave up on the 2003 XP. I then tried to load the s/w on my windows 7 laptop..got the same error message. After messing with it for at least 5 hours, and ruining half my day, I returned the product back to walmart and got my money back. What a scam!! The MS Support site tells you to reinstall windows 7 and then try to reload the d- -n!! s/w again. What kind of Freaking solution is that??!! BTW I have plenty of space on laptop, 80 gigs..so space was not an issue.
