Fisher ca 9025 amplifier

Stereo is about 12 to 13 years old and always worked great. then one day went to turn it on by the remote and nothing happend. i checked all the wires and everything was hooked up properly turned off main power and unplugged to try to reset the amp the only light that was on was the red standby light nothing happend. so i took it apart and found one fuse it looked like it was intact but at the end of the cap it had a slight bubble i didn't no if that could cause the problem of not turning on or what this may be this system kicks and has clear music id hate to throw it out or spend a lot of cash to fix it what do you think the problem could be mine is in standby. If I hold the tuner button for anout 10 sec when I release button a relay clicks and unit powers up for about 8 sec then relay clicks off and back to stand mode and this happens with all components unhooked from amp

The amp is in protect mode. Something in the final stage is defective. This is usually caused by shorted output transistors. This unit is worth getting repaired. Expect a parts cost in the $25-$50 range.

I have a Fisher Stereo Amp Model CA-9025 thats not producing any sound. I have the cabinet off the unit, the unit will turn on, but won't produce any sound. Any other fuses to check or other ideas?

These units use STK amp pac ICs (large black part attached to the rear heatsink). In many cases, this IC is defective. It is possible that there is a problem with the voltage regulator circuit, but that is less likely. This IC needs to be replaced. Expect to pay in the $50 range (or more) for the part.

CA-9025 amplifier the out speakers relay doesn'tsw.

It is possible that the error protection is ON and so does not switch on the amplifier to the speaker. Only if the error amplifier which is a current sensing circuit gets a good feedback on normal current drain will the processor be informed for the speaker relay to be switch.
So remove speakers and check, if not the output is faulty. check for short or drain in at least one channel.

Fisher CA-885 Integrated Stereo Amplifier stuck in stand-by mode

Given the heat/cold cycles of the storage area along with humidity, I would first suspect poor solder connections. This is not unusual for units of this age. A general overhaul should restore this to operation. This should be a labor only repair unless the output STK is bad. These units are known for having poor connections at the voltage regulators which cause a DC voltage offset triggering the protection circuit. The overhaul should address this as well.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Need to locate the microprocessor on the fisher ca-9025 stereo amplifier. Need to know where it is and what it looks like. This is so I can repair the problem of the stero not going off stand-by....

Yep, that is a likely problem, but it could be a blown diode in a relay switch, or etc. etc. If you're lucky, someone will possibly have a repair manual, and schematic. That way, you could reset it, but maybe ohm out a few components further up the on/stand-by circuit while you're in there. Sometimes you get lucky and it's easy, but it can be tricky. I would take digital pics or videos as I went, using macro when necessary. Makes things much easier for me, anyway. You can possibly purchase a schematic, but I couldn't find one online, so if you can get a current tech line, you could probably go that route, but I'm thinkin' big bucks. Here is a blog about your problem, and although there isn't a schematic that I saw, it does identify the components in "stand-by" circuit, as well as the microprocessor.,3
Gutsy job, but that's the only way to keep them alive, from what I've seen! Good luck!

When i got the fisher home stereo ca-9025 very little sound

Lets try the simple stuff first. Check to be sure that the tape monitor switch is not engaged. Since youare getting some sound, it appears that the signal path is being interrupted. It is possible that the output transistors have failed (open), but that is extremely rare. Check the tape monitor switch and update this with your results.

Fisher ca 9025 amplifier

For those who accidently put thier CA-9025 in standby mode by hitting the timer button and no longer have the remote, I figured out how to turn them back on.

Turn on the power button and press and hold the Tuner button for at least 10 seconds. it should come back on :) Hope that helps.

Speakers have died?

Probaby the stereo decoder IC went bad or a supply voltage to it is too low or noisy. If it has audio output jacks on the back of the TV, connect it to an external amplifier and see what that sounds like. If it is ok in stereo or mono mode then the amplifier in the TV is bad. This will prove that the stereo decoder is ok.
