Question about Delphi Roady2 SA10085 XM Radio Receiver with Car Kit

XM Roady2 Built in FM Modulator not working

I am trying to use the internal FM stations to send the signal to my FM radio as I do not have a Tape or Line In audio connection. I am using the home kit antenna on the dash as I move the unit from vehicle to vehicle and the original magnetic mount antenna was lost. When I go into Menu mode on the Roady2 there is no option for FM channel selection. Anyone have any ideas? Do I have to have the regular magnetic antenna instead of the home kit one? I do not have anything in the audio out jack on the Roady2 as per the owners manual.

Re: XM Roady2 Built in FM Modulator not working

It's not in the menu selections because the Roady 2 does not have an internal FM transmitter. The Roady XT does though.

My old unit stopped working;(worked perfect for many years) so I replaced with a new same model and I have bad interference and FM static. Sometimes the FM station overrides the express radio and all you...

The very first XM radios, (SkyFi2, MyFi, Roady2) up until they were put in red boxes, had a VERY strong FM transmitter, so strong, that when Sirius was their enemy, they complained to the FCC and they made the FM transmitters real weaklings. So unless you have one of the first two batches of XM radios, the FM transmitters now are real junk and you're better off using an AUX input on the radio or a cassette tape adapter. Okay? Thanks.

How do I get to radio tune

Turn XM Roady2 'on' using the POWER switch. Go to MENU and go the FM Frequency. Select your frequency of an empty channel in your area, then turn off the Roady2 using the POWER switch. Do NOT do this by turning the car on and off as it tends not to save any settings when you do that. Always use the POWER button. Also, the website 'Radio-Locator' has a utility that will help you find an EMPTY FM channel in your are for your XM radio to use! Good luck and let me know how it works out for you- okay?

Reciever powers up and recieves signal (station and song titles are displayed) but doesn't transmit to car radio either through the assigned fm station or the aux cord.

IF you have a cord plugged into the audio jack, if will TURN OFF your FM transmitter. You have to leave it unplugged for the FM transmitter to work. Go to MENU and make sure your FM station is set and that the FM OUTput signal is turned up. Write back if you need more help.

Trying to install Roady 2

If the Roady2 has a fm modulator built in, you can go to the menu and set the fm frequency. If it doesn't, you could use a fm transmitter that they have for mp3 players to listen to in the car

Static sound or no sound with FM Trans and with Audio Plug

I agree with you. It sounds like an internal audio circuit problem, especially if the tape adapter does the same thing. Have you tries headphones on the unit? If they work, then get the sure connect as it plugs into the headphone jack (Aux out jack)

By the way, you as an XM customer for years, usually XM will just give you another unit to keep you as a customer. I've seen it many times. Couldn't hurt to ask!

No Signal After Reconnecting Roady2

Try playing the Roady 2 through a fm radio with the audio jack(middle connection) disconnected and the FM Frequency & Fm Radio set to the same station. At least this will tell if the receiver is working. I suspect that you got an aftermarket audiojack for your stereo. Might want to check that. Go back to the manual FM Modulation setup instructions. Any FM receiver will work. Good Luck

XM reciever FM transmitter problem

hi the xm radio hardwired installed? if it's a yes you have to go to a professional(bestbuy, retailers) to have the connection check.. the problem is not within the xm's on how it was installed or set up...

If the radio was not built..well, that's much better we just have to check the audio connection from you're xm to fm radio (make sure to check if what band it is connected..such as AUX,CD etc.) if there's a sound but you're only getting preview channels..refresh must be send on the can call xm to ask for that OR do it online at and type in your 8 digit radio I.D just have to follow the activation instruction faithfully...Godbless!
