Pry the left side plate off, it says "3X Optical Zoom" on it. Get under it's edge with a very small screwdriver. There is a screw under it. Remove it. On the right side, where the wrist strap attaches, pry off the side plate. There are two screws under it. Remove them. The front and back should come off now.

How do you remove the battery cover on sony cybershot dsc s700 or where can I find instruction.I need help. Thanks Bob

When it is not in the user manual, you should not try this. Modern electronics are difficult to repair. When you try to remove something from a digital camera, it could be not even the certified repair centres will accept it for repair. So unless you already wanted to trow it away, please don't doe this.

How easy to replace my Sony DSC-WX9 screen?

A replacement screen will cost between $35 and $55 depending on the website your purchase this from.
The job consists disassembling the case (removing the screws). Once the case is off, you unsecure the screen's screws and unclip the ribbon which supplies data to the screen.
Without technical skills, it may be beneficial to contact someone who has the technical skills to install this screen. I would highly recommend purchasing your own screen (to save money) and locate someone to install.
Here is a YouTube video on disassembling a different model Sony.

My DSC-S700 camera have problem,

I have ten DSC-s700, 7 of them no longer power on. Two have power off and screen pixel problems. One is still working, probably not for long. This model is not well made like other older Sony cameras I own. Buy a newer digital camera is cheaper.

Why has mydsc-s700 have a black screen

Hi,
Your camera must be experiencing these symptoms due to a faulty CCD, and not due to other problems. If the problem is due to your dropping the camera, you might be out of luck.
If you have not dropped your camera and still facing this problem, then contact service people to replace the CCD imager in your camera .

Hope this helps .

Thanks for using Fixya.

first of all, if your camera was not powering up the first thing you should have done was call wherever you got your camera from and tell them your case, removing screws can damage camera more if you do it wrong...I would take the camera in and let them handle the sitution!
