The vent or the blower sounds like on is blocked is there any air blowing out the back with to vent disconnected it should be very strong there if not then you will need to clean out the blower housing it is in the back left side but i will tell you those 110 dryers are slow to dry

My dryer takes almost 3 hours to dry a average size load, when I bought it new it took around 1 hour to do a load. Im thinking it might be a heating element but how can I be for certain that is it without...

If you have an ohmmeter you can check it , check across the element connections. Have you cleaned the vents? If the air can't get out it could cause a problem . Also is the fan working ? Lint or something may be blocking it so it can't turn or slowing it down. You might check to be sure you have 220 volts to the dryer one side might be out and only have 110 volts. If you are getting some heat the element is not completly out. One other thing check with ohm meter from heating element connections to the heater box it may be grounded which might give you 110 volts. Hope this helps.

Kenmore 110 60942990 dryer works but takes 3 hours to dry a load.

Venting. When elements or thermostats burn out it is almost always caused by venting restrictions. Vent is plugged with lint, smashed(usually from the dryer being pushed back to far) vent run is too long, or nylon stocking on vent outlet. Also check to see if you can pour water through your lint screen. Sometimes fabric softener builds up on the screen and restricts the air flow. Scrub your lint screen to get this build up off. It takes 3 hours to dry a load of laundry

if this a 110 volt model, that is probably how long it takes. If this is a 220 volt model, you are not getting air flow. a plugged lint filter. a dryer sheet stuck to the back of the inside of the drum. your vent pipe going outside is plugged or the dryer vent cap outside is not opening and closing normally due to an obstruction.

Kenmore 600 dryer tumbling & heating, but not drying

Several reasonings. Step One make certain that you have 220 volts coming to your outlet. It takes 110 for the motor, and it takes 110 for the heating elements. If you have a volt meter that would be the best way to do that. Take the red and stick it in to the long part, and the black lead to the ground. Fuse houses was bad about this. Step Two it could be the elements are kicking off too soon. That is usually a sign of almost blown element. Step Three the heat sensor for the element prematurely kicking off the element.

Maytag model MDE7057AYW 5600 Watts dryer runs ,but

5600 watts will not operate off 120 volts.
This is a 220/240 volt hookup.
There are 2 legs of 120 volts each that operate the dryer.
The only part requiring 220v is the heater.
Otherwise 120v routes through the various controls and relays.

You really need a volt / ohm meter to check for Continuity & Volts

Its well worth the investment... $15.00 bucks give or take a few

I would check to see if you have 220v to back of dryer where the cord mounts to dryer,

If dryer is getting only 1 leg 110 volts instead of the 220 will it not heat.

Check themostates & heater for Continuity... Most models, Now have a.. Hi-limit fuses that need to be checked for Continuity
