Re: how to increase battery life

90 minutes of battery life is very good compared to most, unless you have the latest fueled battery. Normally a laptop can be set to turn off the wireless adapter when not in use and also the brightness level can be reduced and the processor speed can be set to low, enabling only word processing etc to be able to run at a reasonable speed.

Step 1:
No just the laptop charger needs to be plugged in.

Frequent Charging Shortens Battery Life Frequent charging shortens the life span of a Lithium ion battery. Batteries should be charged only after they expend all their power. b> Switching Batteries Switching batteries helps preserve battery life: If a cell phone or computer user puts in a spare battery while separately charging the primary Lithium ion battery, that helps extend the life of both batteries. b> Removing Batteries Most laptops charge the battery when a user plugs in the AC adapter. Users can adjust this setting by changing the power options. Windows places this option in the Control Panel, while the Gnome Linux desktop places power options under "Administrative Tools". Cell phones incorporate their own power-saving features that the user usually cannot control. b> When to Replace a Lithium Ion Battery If a laptop battery does not hold a charge for more than a few minutes, a user must replace the Lithium ion battery if he wants to use the computer without an AC adapter. b> Other Ways to Extend Battery Life Storing a battery in a cool, dry environment causes a lithium-ion battery to last a little longer and reduces the frequency of needed battery replacements. How to increase your Laptop Battery's Life?...

I have a interesting tip to increase your Laptop's battery life. There is no matter, laptop manufactures gives you the guarantee about the battery that how long it works. The battery of laptop always stops working very early at some stage in essential research, just like when you are watching a DVD movie.

Follow the few steps to increase the laptop battery's life :

1. Lower the backlighting on your screen.

The screen of your Laptop takes up significant amount of power and you do not require its maximum brightness. You should have to check your system and decrease the screen brightness it to a comfortable point.

2. Stop your wireless signal when you are not using.

After turning off your Laptop can save max. 20 minutes of your laptop's battery time because WiFi can use a considerable quantity of power. By right clicking you can stop your WiFi signal when you are not using.

3. Manage the correct power scheme in XP
Windows XP contain a number of predetermined power plans, which control settings like how rapidly your laptop turns off and when your screen saver boots in. You can change your laptop power scheme by choosing Control Panel > Power Options. For max. Battery life from the "Power scheme" chooses the option "Max. Battery" and decline the list. There are good choices for you just like "Low Power Mode" and Portable /Laptop. They don't conserve as much power as Max Battery. After selecting a power scheme you click Ok button to finish the process.

How can I increase my laptop battery life?

To increase the battery operating timeline you can do a number of things. These usually include dimming the screen, adjusting the power setting to turn the screen off after 10 minutes and stop the hard drive from spinning when idle after a period of time too.

Results will vary from laptop to laptop and depends if the quoted 6 hours 30 minutes time frame is an actual recorded time of usage off ac or based on windows assumption and estimation.

Windows power management can only tell you the time in which battery power is maintainable for based on the consumption rate at the time. With this being said start up and playing games will utilise more power that say word processing after the initial startup has cooled down.

Some laptops can be operated without the battery however there are an increasing number of laptops these days being manufactured without this option. You can attempt to operate it without the battery and doing so will not damage the laptop in any way. If anything it will maintain the life expectancy of the battery.

How long must a battery be on charge for it to be fully charged.

2 hours is enough for a battery to be completely charged...

Once the battery is charged you can remove the power supply and use the laptop till the battery drains up to 10% to 14%......
This will increase the life time of battery... If you keep on charging the battery continuously when using your laptop, then the battery life will be shortened very soon...
So charge and drain the battery properly... This will increase the life time of battery...

Compaq F700 Battery live very less

Its normal, generally it comes with 80-90 min. You can use HP Power management to optimize the use of battery. Making screen less bright will increase the power backup.
