Question about Mamiya 645AF Medium Format Camera
Every so often when getting the developed film back the centre of the photo is slightly out of focus. It seems to be a random occurance as the shots either side are usually perfect. This is useing the 80mm af lens. Is this a lens problem or camera one? Anyone had similar problems?
The lens has a lever marked A/M near the aperture ring. If the lever is in the 'A' position, the lens will stay wide open until you trip the control lever at the back of the lens next to the rear optics. In the 'M' setting, you can see the aperture move as you change the f-stop setting on the ring. Set the lens to anything but wide open and move the control lever with your finger. You should see that aperture move.

The battery in the film back is only used to supply power when the back is off the camera, when it is on the body power is supplied by the six batteries in the body so try them and also make sure the film insert is properly seated.

SOURCE: I have a Mamiya 645
I would suggest you to shoot some photos reset the settings and then remove the battery of the camera for at least half an hour , then put the battery back again and then the problem would be resolved.
Hope this helps ..:)

From the manual:
"If the error display is not canceled when the shutter release button is pressed again, insert the Dark slide, half-press the shutter release button while pressing the roll film holder's manual film advance button to wind up the film, then contact your nearest Mamiya agent or service center."
