Question about Palm Treo 650 Handheld
I've just got my Sprint palm treo 650 on Ebay, but it didn't come with the owners manual. I'm trying to figure out how to turn off that annoying green light on top of the word Palm. Can you even turn it off? Or it keeps blinking like that forever? Also, the phone didn't come with a setup CD, what can I do about it?? Please help, I very much appreciate it, Thank you, so much!!
There are several possibilities. One is a little freeware application called LEDOff. Just Google "palm ledoff" and go to the first site you see. It says it's for the Treo 600 but it works great on my 650.
The other solution is to put some kind of barrier over the light, like electrical tape. If you're feeling adventurous, you could even open the case and put the tape on the inside so it doesn't ruin the look of your device.
I can't for the life of me figure out why the Treo designers used such a bloody bright LED. I mean, it's like a laser! If you try to look at the screen when it's charging you'll likely get a headache. But the utility I mentioned even turns off the charge light.

How long have you had the 650? Palm offers a 12 month warranty with all of their treo's. It's very possible that Sprint will exchange this product at no charge. I have found the 650 to be the most unstable treo ever made. I had replaced 13 of them before finally switching to blackberry. That does not mean you will suffer the same issues. I would use the palm/sprint warranty if still available.
