Some players are better then others, try a different disc, if it plays then, player is fine, it's just not got a good enough laser eye to read the disc you want to play or laser eye is dirty. You might try cleaning laser ,player to see if that's problem. If it won't play other disks even after cleaning then it's time to replace player. Not sure what type disk your trying, dvd or blu ray, but I've noticed that dvd's play better in blu ray players, they have better laser eye for reading disc.
Easy option first , clean laser with a laser cleaning disc ,if that doesn't work then (I assume you have tried more than 1 disc). a laser won't read a dirty disc, you may have a laser mechanism fault ie laser sticking in its tracks. you could try oiling the cradle that the laser sits on. other than that it is a costly repair. pete
the player is not able to read your disk ...if the disk is clean and it does the same thing for other disks as well then you probably have dust or debree on the laser ... on some players you can see the laser .. it looks like a little lens thats very springy ...you can clean it with a soft tissue wetted with eye glass cleaning fluid .. dont spray directly on the laser ...gently clean the laser lens .... if you cant see the laser with the lid open then you can purchase a DVD/CD cleaning disk ... that looks like a regular DVD but has little brushes mounted on it to clean the laser when you play it ....cleaning the laser usually works but if it doesnt then you could have a damaged or worn out laser .....just a single hair or particle is enough to keep the laser from working...
Several possible causes
1. Laser read lens dirty - clean it
2. CD has become damaged & data cannot be read (does it read in other cd drives?)
3. Intermittent malfunction of laser read circuitry.
4. Process of elimination - if CD is readable on other drives, the problem is with DVD player. If cleaning does not solve the problem, the problem is DVD internal electronics.
Not spinning disc
If it spins with a little help from yourself replace the spindle motor with improved motor, part number: RXQ0749A
Unable to detect discs
The laser head was the culprit. Replacing it fixed the problem. (Laser head code GRP6278A)
Difficulty reading cd, if it does read the sound is strange and sticks
Replace C101 (1000uF/16v)
thanks mate but i tried that
