Video Card not working.

I have a asrock 775i65G motherboard and I have recently purchased a XFX GeForce 6200 512mb 8x AGP card and its not working. I connect the monitor cable to the video card after inserting it in the AGP slot and it will take me to the boot screen and after that it goes blank. I tried running it in safe mode and still the same problem. The video card is not listed on the ASROCK site is there any work arounds....PLEASE HELP.

Do you think I should reformat my computer?

  • dcomputerman May 11, 2010

Did you install the drivers? It is odd that it's not working even in safe mode, but if you can see the screen till it goes through the boot screen, then it's a Windows problem--usually drivers.

When it goes to the boot screen are you able to see the text on the screen and all that good stuff? You might also try (if it still works) Connecting your old video card, see if that works.

Connect your monitor card into your origional monitor port. Boot to BIOS and disable the VGA port. Save and exit. After re-start, shut down and install the new AGP.

What video cards are compatible with my motherboard i have a 7100 GS palit video card, will it work?

Palit Geforce 7100GS video card has a PCI express interface, which is the standard nowadays. Your ASROCK motherboard has a 4x/8x AGP interface. That video card will not plug into your motherboard. You can use any video card that has an 8x (or 4x) AGP connector, or just use the built-in video that is already on the motherboard.

Is DFI AK75-AL compatible with 128Mb/128 bit video card?

Yes, the DFI AK75-AL motherboard has a VIA KT-133A chipset which is compatible with a FX5200 videocard, but not at the full 8x AGP speed (as the videocards supports) but only at 4x AGP speed (maximum speed supported by the motherboard).

PS: Make sure you use the newest motherboard BIOS en VIA chipset drivers to ensure compability.

No display with any AGP card installed

Could be a myraid of issues actually. One option is that the motherboad IS faulty (Asus, MSI all see to face these issues). On the other hand, it could be due to a faulty video card port (still involving the motherboard though). The last option you might wanna consider, although most remote is your memory. Also, make sure that each of the video cards pruchased are of compatiable spces to your motherboard. Hope this helped. Thanks.

Motherboard

Hi renjithr, the Intel D865PERL motherboard doe not use an integerated video (onboard). The D865PERL board uses an AGP add in card. AGP 8x & 4x 1.5v graphics card. If you are not receiving video, you can try removing the AGP card & clean the copper contacts by using alcohol on a cotton swab. (Allow contacts to dry). Use canned air & blow out the AGP slot. Re-seat the AGP card. If the card still does not show video than your AGP card is defective & you will need to replace it.
Click on the link below for a new AGP 8x-4x compatible video card. http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=321119&prodlist=celebros

This XFX GeForce will function in you're Intel system.
The XFX comes with a Lifetime warranty.

Have more questions, please feel free to ask.
Good Luck!

This motherboard has an 8x AGP slot. So any 8X AGP graphic cards will suit this mobo. As your local reseller for any 8x AGP based graphic cards from ATI or Nvidia.
