Question about Hitachi 43FDX01B TV

1 Answer

Picture off center

I don't know how i did this (probably messing around in the service menu), but my picture is off center. when i am watching widescreen format, the picture goes off the right side of the screen. there is a thin ribbon of color that runs down the right side of the screen that was not there formerly. I think this is a quick service menu fix, but i don't know what it is. Please help. the Big Game is only days away. thanks!

Re: picture off center

If you were in the technician menu then look for the HCENTER adjustment (horizontal centering) then move accordingly.

Have good picture, but big black square in center. Tv is a friends who pushed some button and messed up the picture. He said he was messing with the caption button.

Yes it sound like the caption screen, you may have a c.c or display button on your remote. But you will always find it in the menu, depending on your tv brand it may have different locations but its there.
Hope this will help.

Toshiba 32a43 32' picture garbled mess

If you can get the tv to display the blue blackground(usually happens when there is no antenna or cable feed to tv) check to see if the whole screen is a solid blue, if it shows discolored areas around the screen then you might have to "demag" the screen. See if you can rent a demad coil from a tv shop and with tv on turn the coil in circular movements all over the front of screen till blue is solid.good luck!

How to manually adjust the centering of the picture

On newer televisions the centering adjustment is only in the service menu. I wouldn't suggest anyone accessing it unless you understand all of the abbriviated alignments.

Bottom of picture is cut off

Usually when the vertical starts shrinking slowly, it is due to capicators getting out of tolerance in the vertical output section of the chassis. If it can be adjusted out through a service menu, you'll probably need a tech with the right equipment to perform it.
