Question about Sunbeam 672 Humidifier
I cannot find this model (sunbeam ultrasonic 694-10 humidifier) on sunbeams website. The reservoir says to only use distilled h2o and no water detergent or chemicals. But I'm assuming this product is old. It was given to me by my wife's aunt and was only used a couple of times. It doesn't have a filter. I'm wondering if the chemical additives have changed in recent years and if it would be safe to use in this model?
The Problem is minerals in the water. Impeller and ultrasonic designs send these minerals into the air. If the water in your area contains a lot of minerals, you will notice them as dust. The EPA does not issue health warnings about minerals in the air, but does recommend using low-mineral water (such as distilled water) in your humidifier. Many ultrasonic models feature a demineralization cartridge that filters minerals out of the water to prevent the dust.

SOURCE: Can I use distilled water
You most definitely can. In fact it's better than using tap water. As it doesn't have all the minerals and chemicals that tap water has, that cause scaling.
Thanks for choosing FixYa.
