Question about Linksys (WMP54GS) 802.11g/b Wireless Adapter

Linksys router befw11s4

I have an HP computer, with windows xp professional. I recently had problems after a power outage, and now I can't get an internet connection. IP is comcast. They can't seem to help me as neither can the techs at linksys. The wired computer tells me there is an ip address conflict, but no one can tell me how to fix this. All agree that the computer that I want wireless isn't recognizing the fast ethernet card. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Needless to say I am not a computer expert

Re: linksys router befw11s4

The easiest way to sort it is to enter your routers settings page in your internet browser or desktop icon and make sure you enable DHCP which will give your pc an automatic ip address. Make sure WEP or similair is off until the set up is sorted out. Next go to your properties of your wireless adapter(Card) and go to internet TCP/IP and click properties and make sur 'Obtain IP address automatically is ticked. No click Start, then Run then type:- ipconfig /flushdns then press enter.(note the gap between ipconfig and the /). Restart your pc and router and try connecting again

Try to Install this driver for Windows XP, directly from their website.
By the way, if your adapter's version is 1.0, its user guide is here. On the other hand, if it is 2.0, the corresponding user guide can be found here.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out soon.

No connections with my wireless on asus g72

It is a hardware problem. The switch on the Asus G72GX is at fault. I own the same machine, and the switch will hard-lock the wifi and will not unlock it. The hot-key will not work either. It took me a very long time to get to the root of the problem. The only solution appears to be to switch the wifi off, power down (restarting didn't work for me), turn the switch on and then power up.

Wireless Home network will not stay connected to internet

So you have a DSL modem connected to a router connected to a wireless router connected to both your computers? Sounds like you need to just get a wireless modem and throw all the routers away.

No internet access with new Linksys wireless PCI Adapter

Don .bin is a firmware that can upload to the linksys router or any router.

So it seems that your unable to connect wirelessly using the linksys adapter? The Internet connection before is working properly?

*I might advise you to reinstall the driver of your wireless adapter using the latest driver that you can download in there support site.

- Check the Internet connection hardwired to the router if connection works it seems that problem is on the adapter.

Before you can get online through the router all you need to do is change the Linksys router's IP address. Because the westell and the linksys has the same range of IP address that creates a conflict on your network that's why you can't get online.

First login to the setup page of your linksys router.
  1. Under the Setup Tab (this is the first screen that you will see after typing in the linksys router's password.) make sure that the Internet connection type is set to Automatic Configuration- DHCP, Then on the same page look for router IP address or LAN IP address. By default its, you need to change it to And hit save settings. You will get disconnected from the linksys page, that is normal. If you want to log back in to the router page you use the new address of your linksys (
  2. Now you restart your computer to refresh the connection and that should get you online.
Just reply to my post to let me know if your done doing this. We will setup the wireless after we make sure that you can get online wired to the router.
