The printer’s built-in duplexer lets you print on both sides of a sheet of paper, but there’s no duplex scanning for two-sided documents. taken from Mac Life last sentance 4th paragraph Please rate my service thank you  PJ

1. Turn off printer.

2. Pull out paper tray and photo tray

3. Remove output duplexer (on back of printer)

4. Open input sheet feeder (on top of printer)

5. Open cartridge access door. (Basically lift up control panel and scanner section of the printer)

10. Do a test print. All should be fine.

Can you print w/o the duplxer on the back of the hp photosmart c309?

Its not possible without the duplexer but if you have any other older photosmart like C6180, C7280 then there would be a rear door which is attached to it which you can connect at the back of the printer and make it work or might be you can get it from a repair shop, it would be much cheaper than repair shop

Prints off the paper

Check the settings on the printer itself. It may be set to legal and this might override the properties settings. It probably is not printing duplex because it is waiting for the other 3 inches of legal.

Duplex copying on HP Photosmart C8280 All-in-One Can't see how to do two-sided copy apart from scanning both sides and printing two-sided! Old HP printer could do 1-1 1-2 2-1 2-2 etc.

Open HP Solution Center, click on Settings, click on Scan Preferences, select "Scan both sides of original when using duplex feeder."

or
Open Solution Center, click on Scan Document, and you should have a check box towards the bottom of the window which would say 'scan both sides of the original document'. check that box and start scanning.

Follow the instructions in this video. If you follow those instructions and still get the message, you may need to replace your printer or the rear door.

Cannot get printer (hp C7280) to print double sided

There is a new driver from april 2009 on HPs site which adresses this problem. I installed it, and now everything works fine. You have to download and install it yourself, it doesn´t update automatically.
