Question about Epson CX3810 Stylus Color All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Copying Problem When I copy something, only a portion copies and the rest of the page stays white. The cutoff is a very definite end, no fuzzy or fading edge where the copying stops. What is the solution for this problem? Thank you for your help.

Re: Copying Problem

This sounds possibly like a page size problem. Here is the link to all the driver/manual/troubleshooting for your model; try pressing either the "fit to page" or the "a4/letter" button and see if you get any change. Also if you often turn this printer off using an external switch (like a power strip switch) or if you often have power blackouts, there is a possible fault caused with the ink cartridges that may be the problem, the solution being to replace the cartridges - this doesn't sound like the problem unless you get the same when you print. Only other thought is that you may be placing the document to copy in the wrong corner of the scanning plate. The top left as you look at it should be correct, but just check putting a document in all the corners and see what you get. If none of this helps, then I suspect that the data cable linking the scanning carriage to the rest of the machine has a loose coneection or similar that is disconnected when the carriage moves past a particular point on its route. If you fancy trying to repair this yourself, it may not be too difficult, but the issue would probably be best solved by an authorised repair centre. follow the link above for details; Hope this helps :)

Ricoh MP 2500 copied documents have a line across top of page when fed into document feeder when document is scanned the line appears on the scanned version as well. line does not appear on...

Clean the scanner strip glass. This is the thinner strip of glass that runs from front to back right next to the large glass. This glass is only used when scanning/copying using the document feeder. The line you are seeing is because something has become stuck to the glass so when the documents are fed over the strip of glass, the scanner reads the stationary spot of debris as a solid line. Clean the glass very well using a cloth and some glass cleaner. I have seen something get under the glass as well but this is very rare. Rest assured tho that the line is being caused by something on this strip of glass.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Check the print/copying area to see if those controls have been handled or not. Also remove the wire mesh through which the toner passes through. Clean it well but very gently using a painting brush and a blower. Rest it and try a copy....................sodeep

Copier problem has a few web pages that might help. One is a general troubleshooting page that you can review and the other specifically addresses the issue of "white lines" in a copy:

Troubleshooting Copying Issues

White Lines Through Copies

Read through both web pages and see if there's a suggestion that will help solve your problem. Good luck.

Copying with page feed results in a vertical line on every page

There must be a strip of glass about one inch wide, next to
the large glass. There is the problem !
Clean that strip thourougly. When you use the feeder the pages
are scanned thru the small strip of glass.

Copying problem kyocera mita 3530

You did not specify how much of it it is NOT copying or left off.

Depends on how close to the end it is copying.
Try this make a copy of the ceiling ( open top with no documents and copy) it will give you a black sheet of paper, compare it to your copy, there is a margin of white around the black area this is because :
1- makes sure the toner is falling on the sheet
2- leaves enough room to clear out of the fuser.

Is your print falling in the white area? if so it can be adjusted but there has to be a margin of white around the paper. or it will cause jamming.

Good luck

HP 7410 streaks on scanning and copying

First you need to determine if it's doing from both the  top and the glass.

1-assuming you are using the feeder to fax, copy or scan (the part that automatically picks up the paper) it comes out with a streak. Make a copy putting the paper on the glass and look at the copy. Does it have the streak?

2-lift the top and look to the left there should be a small 1inch glass, this is where it makes the copies from the feeder, is there a dot or white out or is the glass dirty? that's your streak, the paper is moving to make the copy,so the dot now looks like a line as opposed to making a copy on the glass it just sits there so a dot will stay a dot.

2- Clean with water or alcohol.
