Either; 1. you have a non-correctable film ribbon, (it should say correctable film ribbon on the box or the ribbon itself) you can check by taking a piece of scotch tape, hold it next to the letter you want to erase, sticky side towards the paper, and hit the CORR key, CAREFULL YOUR FINGERS AREN'T IN THE WAY. if it corrects, the ribbons ok. 2. make sure the DULL side of the corr. tape is faced toward the paper

How do u correct mistakes on a Brother AX100

When you make a mistake press the correction key normally marked with an X and pointing left. If your doing that and it is going thru the movements you may have very old supplies or the correction tape may be in with the wrong side facing the paper.

Lift off tape

Does the tape lift up far enough for correction? If so check to be sure the dull side of the tape is facing the paper. Then be sure you are using a correctable ribbon, the feed wheel should be either yellow or orange. DickyO

The correction tape isn't working. it's installed properly, i think, but it doesn't erase anything.

Try taking the tape out and re-installing with the "dull" side towards the paper...if that doesn't work try a new correction tape.

Correction tape for my Smith Corona PWP 4500 plus...

Is it making all the motions of a correction? If so you may have put the tape on wrong. The dull side must be towards the platen.

Typewriter change correction tape

I just finished replacing mine..You must first remove the ribbon for the typing, this simply lifts off. Then you must place the side with the corrective tape on the left side and the empty end on the right. While doing so, make sure that the ribbon of corrective tape is being placed around the knobs( one on each side) to hold in place. Then feed through and wind up till all the orange has disappeared then replace the Typing ribbon and this should complete the replacement
