Question about Sony Network Walkman NW-E005 MP3 Player

Need help deleting songs from my Sony MP3 player

I got a Sony Walkman MP3 player from a friend and hooked it up to my computer and synched it to the computer. I then deleted all the songs he had off the mp3 player. When I tried to add my songs, it said there was only 211 MB remaining, and it is a 1.7 GB mp3 player. Windows Media Player shows no songs when I go to the Sync tab........I went into the folder for the Walkman/Music, etc., and erased everything out of it, and it still only shows 211 MB remaining. It also does not show any songs on the mp3 player itself. When I try to "shuffle" (delete old files and replace with new ones) music, it only downloads a few of the songs, and then says there is no more room on the mp3 player. I've tried this several times, each time re-deleting everything, and re-shuffling, and nothing is working!! I really need to know how to erase everything completely off the mp3 player (even though nothing is showing) and get it to show I have 1.7 GB of space remaining so I can start downloading all my songs. Thanks for any help you can give!!!!!

I am having a similar problem. I can download some songs but not 2g's worth. There is nothing in none on the folders on the mp3 player, so I don't understand why I can't download more music. What is wrong with this thing? How can I download my 2g's worth of music?

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer?s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

Hi...I just found help on the sony support page www.sony.com. You can delete songs by going to MY COMPUTER and clicking on the walkman as a storage device and delete files right from there under the music folder. Your MP3 will update when you unplug it from the computer.
