No. You need to scan then convert the .tif into a .pdf. There are many good converters around, some of them freeware or costing around $30 or as shareware. You could do worse than starting your search at the url below.
Good Luck.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

you either select add a page, or use the document feeder. The document feeder will try to scan all pages into one file.

My hp laser jet 3052 cannot scan documents in pdf.It is only giving options to save either in jpeg, tif, bmg format. There is no pdf format.

You may need to purchase a scanner to get a PDF like Acrobat Reader. But if you managed to save to PDF before, try to reinstall the software and add software and choose OCR. Most of the HP PDF capablility is together with its OCR software.

Why does my HP 3015 only scan into TIF files and not PDF?

You need to change the scanner program settings on the computer to save the document as a PDF instead of a TIF.

Well once you have digitized all the documents can they all be converted to PDF?
THen all you need to do is to make sure the titles are in numeric order as page 1 - whatever
Adobe PDF acrobat professional lets you place them all into one doc.

MCF 6490CW SCAN AS A PDF

I was trying to figure out how to scan multi-page documents to a single file and found this on the Brother website:

Double-click on the ControlCenter3 icon located in the Task Tray to launch the program window.

Click on CONFIGURATION -> SCAN.

Choose the type of scan you require. The choices are: IMAGE,
E-MAIL, and FILE.

The Scan to configuration window will appear.

The SOFTWARE BUTTON tab configures the Scan to button within theControlCenter3 software interface. The DEVICE BUTTON tab configures the Scan to key on the Brother machine. Choose the tab you want to configure.

Under FILE TYPE select an option that allows multi-page documents:

a) PDF (*.PDF)
b) Tiff Multi-Page # Uncompressed (*.tif)
c) Tiff Multi-Page # Compressed (*.tif)

Click OK.

I'm using an MP780. Usually when I scan an image to jpeg I press START, CANON, SCANGEAR STARTER. This open a window to ScanGear MP. Since I use the Advance Tab I can set the DPI and whatever outputs. The DPI rsolution will determine the size of the file also. When it is finished scanning it goes to the next window which has Save As Type and Save Scanned Image to. Save As Type is where you can choose JPG or TIFF or BMP. Hope this helps.

Scanner problem

Hi BethKay,

What it's telling you is that the "filename" that the scanner/software package is trying to use to save the document being scanned to your hard drive has reached it's limit in the amount of times that it can be incremented by "1". In other words every time you scan a document it is saved to a directory or folder on your PC under a filename which is probably assigned by default. This filename has a "suffix" which is also assigned by the scanner/software eg. filename01.tif (or jpg, etc) filename02.tif filename03.tif and so on. Either I'm way off base or you must have scanned a whole bunch of documents using this naming convention because the scanner/software has run out of numbers that it can affix to each individual file. What you need to do is either 1. Change the folder that you are saving the documents to or 2. Change the pre-suffix filename in order to retain individuality.

Make sense?

Let me know if this helps and good luck.
