Question about Audio Players & Recorders

3 Answers

I need to know what connections on my emachine T2642 are for my audio system which does not work. I have a Boston Digital BA735 speaker system with 2 speakers. On the back of the control box are 4 connections: the first one to connect to the AC line, no problem. The second one is labeled "Control Out"; the third one "Digital In", and the 4th one "analog in". Can you tell me what connections on the back of the computer to use? I trieed guessing on it myself, and got a cd working showing response on my monitor screen that it is running, but no sound.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Normally, it should be the Analog IN of the Boston Digital BA735 connected to the green jack at the back of the PC. If that does not work, pls try the front.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

The chances are that a safety circuit is detecting a severe overload. This could be due to a speaker connection short. But it could also be a fault in the power amp section.

How do I connect Samsung smart TV to a Yamaha receiver and get sound to come out of surround sound speakers?

Generally you will connect the Digital audio or optical audio cable from TV to the input of Receiver. Then using the remote control of Receiver you will program the source for digital audio or optical audio as TV. I am assuming the speakers on the receiver are already connected and working. All you do is then turn on TV and turn on Receiver and select TV on Receiver. The TV audio will play through the receiver. Make sure the TV sound is in Mute.

You may have to go into the settings on the tv and turn off the internal speakers in order to get audio out of the jacks on back.

How can I take apart my Boston Acoustice MCS 130 speaker. It was dropped and now does not work. I want to look in it and see if I can repair it.

there should be panels or rubber feet with screws underneath. or the speaker part can come off. that would be where the mesh would be or holes for the sound to escape.

I'm considering buying the 180636 "surround sound bar speaker system." My question is, is this JUST a speaker system, which needs to be connected to a separate amplifier or "home theater...

The bar speaker system needs to be connected to an amplifier. What the bar speaker does is replicate a five speaker home theater system using just an amplifier.

The only thing that will give you a better sound quality is some type of amplifier/speaker set-up, wether you choose to have an amp and two speakers or and amp with five speakers and a subwoofer is up to you.

AVR-1910 & Bose Lifestyle 35 setup

Bose Lifestyle (and all Bose-amplified speaker) products and their speakers are SYSTEMS and should not be split up or intermixed with other brands or models. Damage will probably result. Proprietary connectors provides a clue.

The digital audio out should work with the Bose. You could still use your Denon to drive a conventional sub in your scheme, but you would have to manually match volume with the Bose. Or go Full Monty and buy a full complement of speakers for the Denon, retask the Bose and slave its sources to the Denon.

On the rear of the receiver you will notice several AUDIO IN connections. Make sure that the AUDIO IN and the receiver's input selector match (for example, if you are connected to AUDIO IN for the VCR section, the input selector on the FRONT of the receiver should also be VCR). Also, make sure that the input selector you are using is set to "Digital Audio" or a digital audio enabled equivalent and NOT analog. Check all connections again to make sure you have not grounded any speaker wire. Check to see if "MUTE" is on TV or Receiver. Try another audio in source just to make sure the speakers are connected properly. If that works, you can pretty much decide that it's either the input selection is wrong or the audio source is not set to digital 9also check to see if PCM is enabled and try setting to "AUTO" if you have that function. If you have option on receiver for speakers A and B, make sure selection matches your wiring.

No output to Zone 2 from preout to 2nd power amp for second room speakers

OK, From what I am understanding is that you both are trying to uilize a digital audio source (HDMI cables are digital audio only) and hence this is the problem. You can only use an analog audio source (connection) to utilize the audio output to zone 2. A simple soultion is to use the analog audio in conjuction with the digital. Connect the digital (HDMI, Optical, Coax) to the main zone and the left and right audios to zone 2.
