Question about Kitchen Ranges

I own a Saeco Royal Cappuccino. Quite suddenly the frothing attachment has stopped drawing the milk up through the tube to froth it. There is a little steam. Also the water/steam wand is not at it's usual pressure.Any suggestions would be most helpful.

He machine takes a little setting up to get the right grind and after that
it will give you an acceptable "short" pull espresso most of the time. It
occassionally dumps unbrewed grounds right thru for some inexplicable reason
but after that is usually OK

The steaming wand works pretty well with the "cappuccinatore" fitted also.
The only real problem I have had with either machine after 3 years is on the
steaming wand attachment - the gaskets wore thru last month. Also I think
the grinder burrs ahve virtually had it, but it has done a lot of service
first

Cleaning is pretty good also as you can just dismantle the bolt in bits and
put all thru a dishwasher once a week.

Saeco coffee vending machine 7P is reading OUT OF SERVICE 06, it is not blocked have checked everything.

7p wouldn't be displaying 06. My guess is you have a Saeco SG200. 06 means the cup dispensers jammed. Remove all cups and switch the machine on. if the cup dispenser make a clicking sound the the cames in the cup dispenser is jammed and needs to be freeed. if it works theres no clicking noise, switch machine off, and reload the cups in the tube that arn't directly over the cam hole. if this is an ongoing issue, tell me what colour are the cams (theres 5 and there black or white) and describe the cup that your using.

How do I get to the oven igniter. Oven function stopped working, broiler still works

remove the oven racks, in back there will be two chrome screws, remove them. Lift the lower oven panel out by pulling up from the rear. Remove the screws holding the flame spreader and remove the flame spreader. Now you will see the burner and igniter attached to it. There are 2 screws holding the igniter on. GE likes to put them on an angle, so it is easier to remove the burner tube. Remove the bottom drawer and remove the screws securing the burner to the back wall. There should be one in the front to. The burner will now lift up and you can get at the screws. The new igniter should come with ceramic wire nuts. Just cut the old igniter, strip the ends of the wires going to it and wire nut the new one on. Reverse the steps to reassemble.
You can go to www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html and watch a free ideo on performing an amp draw check on the igniter. Also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model.

Maytag oven doesn't fire, but stovetop burners work fine

This will sound crazy but I had to work through it on my own stove a few years ago. The ignitor (glow tube) was getting hot but the oven would not owrk. When investigating the problem I found that the gas valve will only open when the ignitor pulls a specific amperage or draw of current. As the ignitor ages it pu;;s a reduced draw of current. This causes you to be fooled by the glow nut no gas. Replace your ignitor and your oven will begin to work again!
You can get ignitors easily online by doing a search for "appliance parts" and then entering the model number of your stove. Look for ignitor and you will be good to go. Also check out a few different sites as the prices of the parts can vary quite a bit.

Stovetop ceramic burner turned black and smooth

Do you have a proper ceramic top scraper ?, if not buy one (about £10 UK)

Get a bottle of cream cleanser and a plastic type pan scrubber

Soak the area with warm water , pour on some cream cleanser and work it in with the scrubber , when you have formed a nice creamy froth use the scraper to get underneath the scorching

It is a lot of hard work but it does come off

No Gas in the Oven

You probably have a bad ignitor. If the ignitor does not function correctly the gas valve will not open. Check ignitor by measuring the amps that it draws - It should draw about 3.5 amps.

Oven works intermittently

Replace the igniter. Igniters seem to get a bit weaker as they age. They have to draw a minimum amperage (say for example 3.2 amps) before the gas safety valve will release gas. The old igniter is probably drawing very close to the minimum. Low voltages (say 110 volts) would make this worse than if you had higher voltages (say 120).

We lost power today and know my oven doesn't work.

Jim, In reading your post I'm assuming the control panel is operational. According to the model number it is a slide in range. You need to remove the lower panel and the flame spreader in the oven and see if your ignitor is coming on. It will be attached to the rear of the burner tube. In order to open the gas valve it needs to draw at least 3 amps and a steady 3.4 to 3.6 amps during heating. If your handy you can test this with a clamp on ammeter. Ohming it out should show around 171K ohms. On this model this rectangular ignitor is not interchangable with the cylindrical generic ignitor, they draw different amperage and use different gas valves. This is not a hard job to do, just need to take your time and observe...Catriver..post back.
