Problems with Samsung LE40F86BD

For the last month or two my Samsung LE40F86BD TV has decided that it likes to turn itself off and then back on again stratight away. This wasn't so much of a problem at first until it started doing it with frightening regularity right up to the point where I can hardly get it to stay on at all. Anyone experienced these problem with this set?

This problem would appear to have been caused by the built-in Freeview receiving corrupted firmware and software upgrades via the aerial. My aeriel connection is not very good at the best of times but as I watch digital TV via satellite it was never an issue for me. The TV was reset to factory settings with the option for automatic updates for the freeview turned off. This appears to have corrected the problem.

Samsung TV model LN32A450C1DXZA, after turning the TV on it will turn itself off shortly after and then turn itself back on shortly thereafter. Then it repeats that several times before staying on.

Hi there,

If the tv is still under warranty, this can be repaired at no charge.

However, if not under warranty, you will need to have the CAPACITORS on the main power supply circuit board tested (or replaced).

The capacitors responsible for the power supply can sometimes fail - open the back panel. If the capacitors on the main power supply board look too fat, or signs of burning near the solder joints, then you've found the problem.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Scott

Samsung 40" LED TV Display

Not familiar with this particular model of samsung LED TV, but ghosting and shadowing are usually an accepted manufacturer's defect.

If you're still under warranty or within 30 days of purchase, contact the company that sold you the TV or Samsung warranty department.

If you're out of warranty and you don't wish to deal with this, contact a TV repair shop. They will most likely tell you that it's not worth repairing and recommend you purchase a new TV.

Scanner turning itself on and off??

I do not think u should try to fix it as it would void the warranty since your scanner is only 8 months old. Get it fixed by returning it to the vendor.
