Hp pavillion a1514n won't enter the BIOS

Hi,

I have no personal interest or association with any product that I may suggest.

Unfortunately, you did not provide the name of the bios so my suggestions are generic

There are some default passwords that you should try first:

  • AMI
  • Award
  • bios
  • setup
  • cmos
  • concat
  • AMI_SW (case sensitive)
  • AMI!SW/
  • AMI?SW/
  • j262

If these passwords didn't do the job, please try the following options:

Option #1:

You can physically remove the Bios/CMOS PROM chip from the motherboard and send it either to the motherboard manufacturer or a Bios developer for replacement of flashing. You can also send the entire motherboard to a facility experienced in these operations.

Option #2:

If the motherboard has a flash updateable Bios/CMOS PROM chip, then you can download a fresh Bios update and re-flash the PROM to eliminate the password.

Option #3:

There are programs (utilities) and (cracks) that can be used to try and either identify the password or remove it forcibly from the PROM chip. Utilities to recover passwords are extremely expensive and are usually only sold to manufacturers and others involved in hardware and software development.

Lastly, you can follow the steps outlined in the link to a tutorial video set forth below:

Hello I have hp media center pc m7250n 2 days e ago I shut down ,and next day I tray to start but it dos not start so please you have any ideas what is going an. ...

There are a few different issues that can cause this type of problem. The first step that should be taken is to verify that there are no lose or disconnected wires coming from or going to the computer. If when starting the PC your getting no power than there is an issue with the power supply. If you are getting power to the PC than you should listen for the beep code on start up. 1 beep after starting the computer signifys that the power on self test (Also known as the POST) has completed with out issue. When getting any other type of beep code you should research the meaning of the code. Beep codes differ from company to company. The best way to identify the meaning of a beep code is to type the manufacture, model and number of beeps into Google. Another possible issue is that your hard drive is corrupt. If this is the case than your computer will pass the power on self test(POST) but will have a message like MBR not found or one of many other errors. If you are getting an error than it is also a good idea to research the error to determine the proper fix. If the PC seems to boot correctly but there is no image on the screen than the issue may be a result of a bad video card. In that case the video card will need to be replaced.

I hope that information above has helped is some way.
If possible please rate this solution.

XP SP3 sends docs to print que but nothing prints

Open up your print queue. Cancel All jobs.

Go to the start menu and either click on, or search for cmd. This will open the command window. You also need to open your task manager.

In the task manager, search for a process called spoolsv.exe, or if that doesn't exist, find a process with "spool" in the name. This is your print spooling process. Right click the process, and end it. You can close the task manager now.

Next, go to the command prompt. Type "net start spooler" without the quotes, and hit enter. This should restart your spooling process. Close the command window, and try to print.

If this doesn't work, you should check to make sure you're printing to the correct printer. If it doesnt solve the problem, uninstall your current printer (you may have to end the spoolsv.exe process again), and reinstall the drivers for your particular model, which you can find at the manufacturers website.

Motherboard start and freeze at the ''E'' screen

You may have a failed motherboard or power supply. Failure of motherboards (and power supplies) is usually due to breaking capacitors. A few years ago a capacitor company stole the "recipe" for making capacitors from another company and tried to make their own, unfortunately they did not get the ingredients right and the capacitors started breaking after 2-3 years of use. They sold these capacitors at very cheap prices and a lot of computer companies and power supply makers bought them. This is easy to diagnose. Look for capacitors (caps) (they look like little tiny soda cans) on your motherboard (mobo). They should be perfectly flat on top and not bulged or swelling or leaking anything. Also they should not have bursted out the bottom (it is hard to see). The dead giveaway is the fact that you are not getting anything after you changed the PSU. There are a few companies that will repair broken capacitor issues. Also if you add a bunch of extra components without upgrading the power supply you can suffer underpowered situations and that can cause internal parts to fail.
To eliminate some other stuff you could remove the memory and disconnect all the power plugs from the drives and then try to start it up. If it does not change the behavior at all (no beeps, no change in flashing lights) then you probably have motherboard issues. Make sure when disconnecting the memory chips (sticks) that you touch the metal on the inside of the case first to discharge static electricity. If it does change the behavior add 1 component or item back at a time to see what you can find out. Post back with what you find. I am currently working on an emachine with the same issue. It has about 6 bad caps, 5 top bulgers and one bottom bulger.
