You need to order a driver installation disc and then download everything to do with wireless.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You need seak advice from you manfactres Guid book to see were wireless adapter card is and need to remove the card and rensert wirless card this means not dectted hardwere if you reprgrammed in passed few...

Without having the specific model or brand, thats a hard answer to give. Typically there's a cover on the bottom of the laptop , usually one for the ram, one for the hard drive, and sometimes one for the wifi card.
It is typically held in by 1 pin on each side, just spread them outwards and the card will pop upwards. pull it out, reseat it, and push it down and it will snap back in to place. Be careful though, there are connectors attached to this card that are going to be very sensitive to pop off and put back on.

Wireless not working

Go to control panel click on system, navigate to hardware then to device manager than click on network adapters than right click on ( wireless network connection) and uninstall it, than restart computer and it will find new hardware. Click on new hardware icon and open available wireless networks and select network than connect.

Wireless connection works for Skype doesn't work for IE and Outlook

Hi there, dkny, What kind of router are you using? That may be where the complaint is coming from. Perhaps there is a setting to allow programs and/or hardware(wirless card). Also does the wireless card come with a configuration utility? You may have to 'tell it' what you want to do. Hope it helps!

Connected on Wireless but unable to connect on Internet

If not done allready, setup the lan IP address and default gateway in win98 Click MyComputer-ControlPanel-Network-Double Click TCP/IP Adapter for your 3com device-insert LAN info for IP Adress-subnet mask, Gateway and your Internet service providors DNS Addresses info Tab's (3x different Tabs "IP Adress" "Gateway" "DNS Configuration") IP Adress will be at least one number higher than your gateway address and not allready being used by other PC's on your network and gateway address will same as your router interface address subnet mask will be the same for all PC's on your network. For 3com and Netgear routers LAN setup is usually Gateway = 192.168.1.1 Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0 IP Adress = 192.168.1.10(choose alternate number than 10 if allready used by another PC on your network, try to use round numbers, must be a number higher than 1) Once all info is entered click OK (this may trigger a database info update message and task)now your LAN is setup and ready to talk to your network Restart PC and try browsing again. May possibly require reinstallation of the TCP/IP client (you double clicked this to setup your LAN in Win98) or reinstallation of the IIS(Internet Information Services)component found in, Add/Remove Programs-Add/Remove windows components and then try LAN setup again if this does not work first time round
