How come at school you get stuff on computers that you can't do at home

All computers are capable of performing the same tasks and running the same software.
However schools often purchase software specific to education. Often times this software is not available outside educational institutes (for home use)

If you mean something else such as you can't goto certain websites at home, but you can at school. Your parents may have installed software or enabled features on your internet modem / router that prevent certain websites from being visited.

If you provide more details we can try to help you further.

Yahoo mail error 999

I have seen this happen when a router stores a "CACHED" address for a website. The only solution is to power off the router (reboot wont always resolve).

Other things to check:
- Make sure the Comcast and Buffalo routers are not using the same subnet.
- Try to use an alternate DNS on the Buffalo, 8.8.8.8 is a good one (its googles DNS)

I have a poweredge t300 server and am having an issues connecting to certain website which I can log on to using a different computer not connected to the server which leads me to believe it has to do

Sounds like you're running into a security limitation. Firewall, etc... Corporate software is perhaps blocking the request for that site.

Honestly? I'm not really clear on the situation as your question is poorly constructed.

I'm guessing this is too old to be an issue at this point, however.

UNABLE TO OPEN ANY PAGE

You may want to check the wireless security settings ie. (WEP / WPA /WPA2...etc) on the router, certain settings don't always work well with the macintosh, try changing them and that should help your problem.

Different websites

Try to open port 443 on your router or try change the MTU size to 1492. If it still doesn't work, contact toll-free tech support Supportrix at 1-877-787-8749 and use "supportcall" as a promo code for a free technical support call.

Hope this helps!

NETGEAR WGT624 Router Troubleshooting

Hello!

Inability to access certain websites is due to three main factors.
  1. Security on the web browser is set too high
  2. MTU not set on the router properly
  3. Secured websites
Lowering Down the Security Settings on Internet Explorer

Step 1: Double-click Internet Explorer and click Tools.
Step 2: Select Internet Options, click Security then Custom Level. A window similar to Step 3 will appear.
Step 3: Select Medium-low under the Reset to drop-down menu.

If this did not work, you may try to:

-- enable the MTU on the router.
-- forward port 443 on the router

Trouble with wireless card

Something has gone wrong with your internet home connection--obviously nothing is the matter with your wireless connectivity hardware. You should reconfigure your home wireless connection. Follow the directions in Vista or XP help to set up a new home wireless connection. There are various ways to do this, such as through a router. If you have a home wireless router, be sure to set it for WEP incryption, or your neighbors will be able to get on your internet free.
