posted by D-bud on Jan 31, 2007

Ok so I got a memory card for my mp3 player when it ran out of space and I wanted to add more songs...so I put it into the mp3 player and then I go to add more songs and it says that the memory is all used up and I will need to delete songs to add more...but I just put a memory card in so it should let me put more on it...please help me...it would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem with mine and it seems like Media Player is listing the card as a separate device. As to looking it up in the manual - I did and not a thing was mentioned regarding the memory card.

If it is a SD/MMC card, the usual for mp3 players, you will sometimes need to manage files differently. The memory card is sometimes listed as a separate removable drive in "My Computer" or find it in the device manager. I would suggest looking at the instructions, but you could try copying the files to a folder if you have been trying the drag and dump into the root directory.

I figured out how to get music on my card! Media Player and the regular "My Computer" section of Windows XP kept telling me the memory card was write protected. I took it out of my player and put it into a SanDisk card reader. It showed it as empty, of course. I copy and pasted the songs I wanted and knew were not already on the ilo. They copied fine. I put the card back into the ilo, powered it up and then using artist scanned for the items I had just added and all were there. Why we have to go thru so much to get songs on the memory card is beyond me but it does work!
