Question about Canon MultiPASS F50 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Wrong Cartridge Error Message

I have a Cannon Multipass F50 printer. I have replaced all the cartridges with the Cannon brand ink cartridges. Why does the printer continue to give me an error message that says "wrong cartridge"? How do I fix the problem?

The Print Head might be the fault of that,try replacing the print head and see if that helps

if you ever get this figured out, let me know, my mp730 says the same thing, i had the head cleaned after i got a wrong cartridge error and now i have a put in cartridge error

It says M ink empty but it is a new ink tank.


wen u buy a pre filled ink cartridge your ink level says it empty because its not the manufactures ink ignore it the cartridge will still work perfect hope this helps

My Canon Multipass F50 has a "check printer" error and won't print. The ink cartridges will not move when you open the door (as if to replace). It won't even turn off to cycle it to clear the error,


I had a similar problem. Go to this page http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/29693 and try the codes they suggest to reset the count for the waste tanks. Good luck.

"Wrong cartridge" message.


Wrong cartridge means the printhead has gone bad, no amount of cleaning will help. Sorry about the poor advice, but you just need a new printhead.QY6-0034-010 around $45.00

While printing photos my printer has white vertical lines


Sounds like you need to re-align the print cartridge . The reason the text comes out ok is probably because it is only using the black cartridge for text. The color cartridge is the one that's out of alignment. You may have some sort of Cannon utility running in the task bar that will allow you to easily allign the print cartridges. If not, go to the main "Printers and Faxes" window, RIGHT-click on the printer and select "Properties". You should be able to find a button in the properties that's labeled something like re-align print cartridges. It will print out a series of test pages and ask you to select the set of lines that looks the straightest and type it in. It's a good idea to do this every time you replace a cartrige.
