I have a Maytag, front loading, electric dryer Model #LDE9314ACE. When we close the door the unit does nothing. I figured it may be the door switch, which I later found out to be Maytag P/N 305754. If you just push the switch straight in, the dryer will not turn on at all. However, I discovered that if you lightly pull the door switch to the right while pressing it, the dryer turns on every time. I don't want to damage anything and would like to find out how do you remove that switch in order to change it???

What I did was unplug it for 1 min., plug it back in. Push the "off" button once, then push the off button again and hold it for 10 seconds. This is supposed to reset the computer. It worked for me.

Check spring tab behind door switch-if it's bent/out of adjustment, circuit will act like door is always open.
To confirm this, open door, set dryer to active setting, and hold in door switch; if it comes on, then it's either the spring tab, or the switch is malfunctioning

I fixed my own problem...I took the extra 4th wire(green) and attached it to the dryer body...There is a screw with the word ground stamped into the metal above it. This is right next to the panal where the cord goes into. I just unscrewed it and put my cable there and the dryer works perfect.....These things need to have a detailed diagram on the dryer....

Door switch If the door switch or the door-switch actuator is defective, the dryer won't work and you need to replace the failed component. The switch is inside the dryer main housing near the door frame. Sometimes you need to raise or open the top or front of the dryer to reach the switch.Check online for the part repairclinic.com has it for $14.00 not bad
