You can log into your router manually and look around for the firmware number using your web browser. It is always displayed somewhere, but every router is different

Go to , try to find the model you have and see what ports and stuff you have to open to make it work

Is my westell modem (style: mstatea sku: f90 6100 2506) also a router?

to determine if a modem is also a router:

if it is a router:
1. at the back of the modem you should see 5 ports the first port labeled DSL and another 4 port labeled 1,2,3,4 that is for ETHERNET cable

if it is a modem only:
1. only 3 port that you can see at the back of the westell f90 1 for DSL, 1 for ETHERNET and 1 for power cord.

How do i reset the password in the att mstatea modem

The modem should have a small reset button on its back, bottom or possibly on the side, you need to press this button with a paper clip or similar, hold it down around 5 to 30 seconds.

This will reset the modem to factory defaults, but I'm not sure about the time required to press the button, begin with holding it down for 5 seconds, after that 10, 15 and 30. it should reset.

Default username and password for logging in read in the user manual.

WEP key

Your DSL modem does NOT have wireless capabiltiy and therefore has no WEP. Do you have a wireless router attached to the MSTATEA? If so, it has WEP security encryption. Please let us know make and modl of the wireless apparatus you are using.

Hold the modem at different angles to a light and see if you can glean the missing parts of the code off of the sticker. Write it down if you get it, otherwise, if it was a wired switch on the back, that should still work. Good luck.

Motorola MSTATEA takes long time to "reconnect"

Check the speed and call ISP tech support to run the line test
Before calling them do a complete power cycle
Turn the modem off and the computer off and router if any
Wait for 30 seconds and turn the modem on and wait for the lights to turn solid
Once ready turn router if you have else computer
Delete the temporary internet files browsing cookies, cache memory.
If the modem turns too hot after running for an hour please replace the modem
DSL light blinking green indicates that there s no proper signal to the modem
Check the wall jack for any loose contacts
If you have any filter check them too
Isolate them and try with it
Change them if possible
