You can log into your router manually and look around for the firmware number using your web browser. It is always displayed somewhere, but every router is different

Go to www.portforward.com , try to find the model you have and see what ports and stuff you have to open to make it work

The Dell 4500 uses an add-on PCI card for ethernet.
You may not have ordered this PC with one.

You can purchase a card for this system, if you are comfortable with installing additional cards into the system. The system is

Hi we have broadband and lately i have to keep turning off modem to connect to the internet. this fixes it for awhile then have to turn off again? please can you help

Do you have a router connected to your broadband connection? If so, you might have to update the firmware on that router. If you don't have a router on your broadband system, I would get in touch with your Internet Service Provider to see about a replacement modem.

Good Luck

Computer needs ethernet card for highspeed internet

It depends on your computer and your operating system, but generally if you have USB ports with a Windows-based machine, then you can use a USB ethernet adapter. You plug the adaptor into your USB port, then the ethernet cable into the adapter.

Almost any electronics supply store ie Circuit City, Best Buy, plus Walmart and other big discount stores carry USB Ethernet Adapters. You can also try your local mom 'n' pop computer supply store.

I'm posting a link to a DLink adapter as an example *only.* There are other brand names out there that would probably do just as well.

Hope this helps!
