The power button is gone so there is no way to turn it on. is there anyway i can turn it on with the button?

You could try using a small screwdriver pushing straight in thru the hole where the power button was. If that doesn't work, put screwdriver in hole then push down on it. The switch inside the TV could be just inside the hole or up to an inch or so inside. To prevent electric short, wrap tape around screwdriver.
If that doesn't work, unplug the TV and take the back off, slide the circuit board out far enough to see how the power switch works then go from there. The actual switch is soldered to the circuit board. The power button is only a piece of plastic that actuates the switch.

Sony KV 27S66 - When power button is pushed the "click" is heard then the set shuts off and the stand by light in front flashes. Is this the main power supply board that has gone out?

Hello

Blinking of standby light in Sony sets anre fault indications. There will be a specific number of blinks for each fault, from which we can understand the actual fault section inside your Tv. Count the number of blinks by Switch On and Switch Off by its front panel ON-Off switch for atleast 3 times, and confirm it. Just send me the exact number of blinks through Fixya. I'll assist you Ok.

Compaq proliant 5500 server wont power up

In my experience when a server/computer does absolutely nothing when the power button is pressed it is a dead processor. That may not be the case in your situation. It could be as simple as a defective power switch. Is the switch a soft touch or does it push in and click? Does the switch feel normal when pushed? One of the power supplies could also be bad. Do you have any good power supplies to test in the server? Were there any power outages recently that could have caused damage to the PSU? I would start with checking the switch. You could hook up a circuit tester and see if the switch completes the circuit when depressed. Also take a look inside the server and look for any loose connections on the mainboard. It is possible the wire for the power switch has come loose.

Hi,
Looks as if the connector wire to the power switch in front has become loose or removed from the pin provided on the motherboard due to the air. Check any loose connections or loose wires inside the cabinet & secure them. That should solve the problem

Tv wont turn on

I had the same problem and took it apart. Before the repair there was no "click" when I pushed the button, a clue to the problem. The on-off button on the front pushes a weakly made angle piece of plastic inside which had broken. The plastic piece in turn is supposed to push an internal switch which is offset to one side.

I used epoxy (Araldite) to repair the broken plastic angle piece, but it still looks weak to me so I switch the tv off at the wall and leave the on-off button alone (though it does work now).

Opening the case requires some knowledge and care, and can be dangerous. It may void the warranty so be careful or give it to a qualified repair person.

Hope this helps!
