Question about Konica Minolta Magicolor 2530 DL Laser Printer

Drum unit setting

I need to adjust the setting for the drum unit. The factory setting ensures that it stops after a certain number of impressions, and I want to be able to make the judgement myself as to when it needs replacing.

It is actually a 2550, not a 2530 but I could not find that listed.

I put in a new drum, but then thought why not use the old drum until I have problems? (Is this a mistake, am I causing unnecessary wear and tear on the printer?) When I put in the old drum the printer still thinks it's the new one, so I've got full life again.

Sir,
Did you prime the cleaning blade with toner when you installed it?, and did you ensure the new cleaning blade did not flip!!!!, re-check the new installed cleaning blade, place a small amount of toner from the toner bottle on the drum along the whole drum. and using your hands at both end of the drum DO NOT TOUCH THE DRUM" turn just a 1/4" CCW (To ensure the cleaning blade is set) then CW to see if the toner is removed. your drum might need to be replaced and or the fuser unit have a example of the copy?

After replacing drum and developer unit, printing output is too light and unable to be adjusted. I've set the image to -3 and the grid to +2 but the printing output is still too light and on the density...

first did you clear the counter for the drum and developer before replacing them second did you run the required F 8 procedure if not need to buy new drum and developer. Start over the counters are cleared in service mode then you take the image unit out, then replace the drum and developer then re-install the image unit then run the the required F 8. ENSURE FAX LINE AND NETWORK cables are removed do not want a fax or print job to come in before running the f 8.

Replace the developer. If that does not work replace the ATDC sensor located under the image unit. has multi color ribbon cable. If not that then the main control board if you can find one. Best bet would be replace the developer and ensure you clear the counter for develop and run the F8 process after replacing the developer. DO NOT USE A VACCUM CLEANER to replace the developer because the static electricity from the vacuum cleaner can destroy the sensor. Also the copier uses the counters to adjust voltages for certain assy. so if you replace the developer and don't clear the counters then the machine will adjust voltages for a used drum or developer when in reality the developer or the drum are new. Causing image problems and codes

Does the control panel say replace PC drum? Then replace the drum and developer both are replaced at the same time. Have a Magicolor 2430 DL. Getting message "drum low". Does this mean I have to replace the imaging drum or something else?

Most all replaceable parts on MagiColor printers are literally scheduled to be replaced after a certain number of pages printed using them. Officially, this is to ensure print quality remains sufficient. Unofficially, it's just another way to **** money from your wallet.

That being said, there is likely a fuse somewhere on the OPC drum unit that, when replaced, will reset the page count for that unit. Once the page count is reset, the fuse is blown, and counting resumes.

Examine the unit for large, silver, metal contacts. The fuse will be underneath those (or very nearby). Either replace the fuse or temporarily short the contacts. If you short the contacts, turn the printer on, verify the printer "thinks" the drum unit has been replaced, turn back off, and remove the short circuit.

Have you cleaned the slit-glass located behind the drum? Its a thin piece of glass that is about the length of a drum assembly. Check that the drum voltages on the drum label have been correctly installed. Perform a AVPC in service mode to set the primary charge value.
