Question about HP Photosmart M517 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Lens will not open with batteries

This is a weird problem. On my m517 camera, I inserted a fresh set of re-charged batteries and turn the camera. The lens will not extend out and all I see is black. However, when I connect the camera to AC power, the lens open and the camera is fully functional.

Try cleaning the battery contact inside the camera batteries slot.

Also test a different battery, possibly a battery pack that you tried on a different camera.

If that does not fix the problem, then there is a faulty component iside the camera, usually you get this kind of problem because of a faulty camera, or oxide on camera batteries contacts.

I have a problem with the Samsung S600, when you turn on the digital camera everything is blurred, if it includes an option or something else. Please help

Your camera lens is not its own correct position. But before deciding you should do the followings.

1. Turn off the camera.

2. Remove batteries and memory card.

3. Charge your batteries fully. If you have another fresh charged battery then change them.

4. Place memory card and new batteries.

5. Turn on your camera.

6. Enter settings and turn your camera settings to fabrical settings. I mean reset your camera.

7. If the problem persists then this means that your camera lens is not its original position.

8. May be you have touched your lens or dropped your camera or something else.

9. Please turn on camera and pull and push your lens gently. Be carefull not to force it.

10. If nothing changed then this means that your camera must be opened by an authorized service repairman.

11. Shake your camera if there is a broken parts noise. If there is a broken part in it then this means, lens and related parts had been broken. So camera lens should be changed.

12. Is it easy to open the camera and place the lens to its own place? No, any carefull person can repair it if there is no need to change any part.

13 You may read how to repair the lens from my another solution. The link is below:

Camera turns on then immediately turns off

Quick turnoff is normally a symptom of low battery power. Make sure that you have fresh/charged batteries in the camera. If fresh power doesn't solve the problem you will need professional service on the camera.

Weird problem. Camedia d-520 doesn't turn on. Blinks and Beeps.

I'm having the same problem with mine. Happens on rechargeables or brand new standard batteries as well. Very frustrating. I can't take more than 2 videos in a row without the dreaded orange/green lights flashing (low battery warning). Leaving it for 10-20 minutes and it works again, with the battery charge showing full.
