Phone won't power on

I was going to use the self portrait thing on my phone so I turned on teh camera then the viewer came up. I closed my phone so that I could use the other screen as a viewfinder. Once I closed the phone it turned off completly and hasn't come on since. My phone is only 1 day old. Any suggestions? I havn't dropped or done anything to my phone and it is fully charged. Thanks for any help.

My phone did that a week old. It does it every so often. It's a quick and easy fix for me. Once the phone is completely turned off, you open the back up (where the battery is), take out the battery, blow on it, put it back in, and turn it on. Hopefully it works fine again.

Can't take self portrait

I assume it has two cameras in it???? In camera mode (or camera settings) there should be a icon that looks like a little camera with arrows around it. Select this and it should toggle from back camera to front, then it's easy to take self portrait

You need a front facing camera. The phone doesn't have it.

What are the best setting for the nikon s4300

The "best" settings depend on what you're taking a picture of, and on what you want that picture to say to the viewer. The best setting for a portrait won't be the best setting for a landscape, for example. The best setting for a portrait of a young girl may not be the best setting for a portrait of her grandfather.

Two photographers taking a picture of the same thing with the same camera may not choose the same settings because each photographer "feels" different about the picture and want the viewer to get that feeling.

That's why cameras come with all these settings. YOU are the photographer, the camera is just a tool. You might want to visit your local library and look through some introductory photography books. They will explain what the various settings do and how they affect the picture. They will tell you the "best," or at least the "better" settings for certain situations. Above all, experiment. Take pictures of the same thing with different settings and look at them on your computer to see what changes. One big advantage of digital photography is that experimentation doesn't cost you anything.

if the phone has a front cam press the button in the op left hand corner. it should switch and then you can see your face or whatever you are pointing at. if you don't have a front facing cam go into the options of the camera. there should be some options on what kind of picture you want to take

The correct camera settings Canon PowerShot SX100 IS

That depends on what you're taking a picture of, and what you want that picture to say to the viewer.
On a purely technical basis, the best settings for a portrait won't be the best settings for a landscape. You'll want a large aperture for the former and a small aperture for the latter, for example.
Then there are the artistic considerations. You might want to use different settings for a picture of a teenage girl than for one of her grandfather.
That's why there are so many settings. There is no such thing as the "correct" or "best" settings. It all depends on the picture and the photographer taking it.

Outside display screen will not show anything but the motorolla logo

Does anything show on the external display if you go to take a picture, but before you acually take it, close the phone and look on the external display as if you were taking a self-portrait?
To make fully sure, while the phone is closed, press a volume button - does anything show on the display? If so, the external display functions and it would be a setting that may have been overlooked.
Go to Menu > Settings > Initial Setup > Display Timeout
or:
Menu > Settings > Personalise > Home Screen

Multi-Swing

By rotating the display, users can use it to view their subject when taking low-angle, high-angle, and a wide range of other shots. When closed, the multi-swing display also ensures carefree portability by protecting both the lens and the LCD screen. The IR-500 is the first Olympus camera to feature a multi-swing display with 360° rotation capability. It is especially useful in Self Portrait Shooting. The multi-swing display's 360° rotation capability makes it easy to shoot self-portraits as well as other people and scenery. Users can view themselves on the LCD screen while shooting, and use the camera's Self Portrait mode to ensure optimum exposures.

Shooting modes

What is the best situation to use each of the shooting modes? The shooting modes are described as follows: Program Auto (Factory default setting) Program Auto mode is used for regular photography. The camera automatically makes the settings for natural color balance. Other functions, such as the flash mode and metering, can be adjusted manually. Portrait Portrait mode is suitable for taking a portrait-style picture of a person. The camera automatically sets the optimal shooting conditions. Landscape + Portrait Landscape + Portrait mode is suitable for taking photos which include both your subject and the landscape. The camera automatically sets the optimal shooting conditions. Landscape Landscape mode is suitable for taking pictures of landscapes and other outdoor scenes. The camera automatically sets the optimal shooting conditions. Night scene Night scene mode is suitable for shooting pictures in the evening or at night. The camera sets a slower shutter speed than is used in normal shooting. If you take a picture of a street at night in any other mode, the lack of brightness will result in a dark picture with only dots of light showing. In this mode, the true appearance of the street is captured. The camera automatically sets the optimal shooting conditions. If you use the flash, you can take pictures of both your subject and the night background. Self-portrait Self-portrait mode enables you to take a picture of yourself while holding the camera. Point the lens towards yourself, and the focus will be locked on you. The camera automatically sets the optimal shooting conditions. The zoom is fixed in the wide position and cannot be changed. QuickTime Movie QuickTime Movie mode lets you record movies with sound. The focus and zoom are locked. If the distance to the subject changes, the focus may be compromised.
