If you have headset that has a fat connector, it may not be in all the way and so your getting your audio in both. If its stereo, what happens is only one channel is getting connection to the earphones and the other is still going to the speakers. Check this first.
If not, then it could be a bad mother board and its not switching properly. If this is the case, then i would call tech support and have them confim it so you can have it repaired. Seeing as how its new and all.
