How do I clear my sharp ar 287 showing code F2-00 ?

My sharp ar 287 is showing code F2-00 after toner refill

    I am not at the machines location at this time but the toner cartridge is not the removable type. You just fill the resevoir from a toner bottle. In any case I will try to pull the plug, maybe that will work.

    I unplugged the Sharp AR 287 copier for 30 minutes and the same code appeared F2-00. Any other suggestions?

    Does anyone know the "key Operator Code" for the Sharp AR 287 copier? maybe I will be able to clear the F2-00 error code from there.

U will have to call the service center sharp to reset the printer error codes.as they r not listed on the sites openly to do it manually.

Its the problem of the toner sensor in the machine.as the cartridge is not getting detected in the machine so this error,because the sensor is moved it needs to be made proper or if the sensor in bent/broken it needs replacement.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Most Sharp have the error F2-00 as Toner Sensor Problem. This is different from the "TONER SUPPLY IS LOW. PRESS 1 FOR GUIDANCE" which indicates that the machine requires additional toner. Error code F2-00 is an indication that a hardware fault exists, the sensor itself, not the toner, is needing attention. In some instances, this would only require cleaning the sensor and the toner reservoir.

    and in some instances, not only cleaning and not recommended to simply reset. As earlier posted, a hardware fault exists. On along the same series (but different model) AR-336, the recommended procedure:

    "empty out the toner hopper (are you wearing your black shirt?). Examine
    the foam roller. If you can see light down through the slot where the
    toner feeds replace the foam roller, end seals, and developer. Refill
    toner hopper. Run sim 14 to clear code, sim 25-02 to set developer, and
    sim 24-5 to reset developer count.

It would be best to unplug the machine for some time then plug it back in. that normally resets the internal memory of the unit.

Try first to power off the printer for about 30 minutes and unplug it from the computer and the power outlet then check if its already working....

    If you're still receiving the error the machine is detecting the toner that is connected to it, there's a possibility that the toner is bad or something...

Remove the toner and unplug the machine for two minutes.then again on the device and reinsert the toner.the toner is not getting detected by the machine.

I want to know the solution to a sharp ar-5316 i refilled the toner after the toner was empty and the red triangle is still blinking, what should i do?


Does the toner cartridge have a electronic chip on it? if so you could refill it all day long it would not change once the chip say the i am done the cartridge is done. Sorry.

I have a sharp ar-235 what does call service code U2-40 mean


CRUM chip communication trouble = the chip on the toner cartridge is faulty.

1, Try to clear the code press P, *, C, *, to enter the service simulation, on the key pad press 1,6, then the copy start, press execute on the screen.

2, Change the toner cartridge.
If it is a brand new one return to supplier as fault, if it is a refilled new one take back to supplier (the CRUM chip serves as a genuine supplies protection for sharp and 'blows' when the toner is empty the re-filler will have to put a new chip on it)

I want a solution for a Sharp AR - 287 Digital Image problem


H-4 is an error code for the fixing assemblyand needs to be reset thru a simulation code, sometimes a power flucuation can cause this error and therefore may not need parts.
press #
press *
press clear
press *
when it is done properly the display will go blank
then enter 14
then press the start key, turn the machie off and then back on.
If the code comes back you'll need something for the fixing assembly

Need to reset key operator code on Sharp AR-287


Make sure the copier is in "copy" mode.
To get into service mode press the following keys one after the other "P" key - "interupt" key - "clear" key - "interupt" key (do not play around with setting in service mode as this can render your copier useless)
enter 22 and press "start" enter "7" and press start. This should display the admin code.
Restart the copier and you should be good to go.

The AR 287 does not have any codes that begin with "HR". Please recheck the display and post again with correct code and I will try and help you.

H4 for an error code on all Sharps indicates that the fusing temperature isn't correct. It needs to have a new thermistor installed or the heating lamps need to be replaced.
