Question about AMD ASUS A7N8X-VM/400 Motherboard

PC with poss ASUS A7N8X - VM motherboard problem

When PC switched on screen flashes up 'No Signal' for a few seconds then goes off.
M/c does not post/ boot -up . An IT colleague of mine says after inspecting it that the motherboard 'has gone' .
Any ideas, fixes or solutions grateful.

    PC is a MESH Matrix M2800+XL purchased in Feb 04



    Processor is AMD Athlon XP (TM) 2800+ with Quantispeed Technology

    Memory : 512 Mb PC2700 DDR Memory 333 MHz

    Hard Drives 120Gb Ultra Fast with Buffer (7200rpm)

Hello,
Switch off the pc and open the pc cover.
Remove CMOS batteryand press on of switch for 40 seconds.
Start your pc and pres F2/F10/ Dell for setup bios .
Disable on board graphics.
or set graphics priority
Follow bellow links for basic knowledge.

save and exit or pres F10(funtion key).

Problem with ASUS P5GD1 mobo


Try taken the bios battery out for about 30 secs, replace it and then reboot, after post press F8 untill you have a screen pop up with a safe mode option use the arrows keys to navigate to safe mode and press enter. In safe mode goto my conputer c:drive(boot drive) windows. In the windows folder look for a file called prefetch, delete all it contents. Exit out of everything and restart the pc. If same thing happens post back.

Installing extra memory causes freezing + closing down of pc


Check these specs for your board.it will support 2gb but only if its pc2700.anything greater will not boot or become unstable quickly.here are your specs.also i am enclosing an ASUS link for any and all manuals etc. for this board.asus a7n8x-vm motherboard

Computer will not boot up


no most popularly its because u have filled up the ram slots some pc need to have the driveres installed to take the ram try taking all the ram out apart from one stick in slot one the turn the monitor/tv on and then the pc this should work if i dosent then the pc is booting in too high or too low a resilution normaly too low try using a old moniter jst to set the pc up but try the ram first normally works
