Question about Philips Audio Players & Recorders
I was searching the web site above for the manual release but i could not find it. You can find the manual there as well as service and support help.
The common cause for this problem I have seen is the disc inside is wedged in between the tray and the chassis. If you find the manual release you can get it out.
If the problem persists you can open the cd chassis and make sure that the tray is lined up with the tray. Try to open and close automaticly and observe to find where is is hanging up at.
If it all lines up and moves smoothly but still will not open in auto Then look for the proximity switches. They are on the outside edges of the tray and may look like a small plastic stake sticking out of the circuit board. These switches must read what we call flags located on the tray. make sure the prox switches are reading that your tray is seated properly. Good luck and happy holidays.
