Question about Smeg 24 in. DWI612 Built-in Dishwasher
My integrated dishwasher has trouble starting and then fails to do a full cycle once it has started. It is built-in so you start the timer (push button) before you shut the door. It then starts the pumping noises, sometimes these noises are a bit laboured and sound more like teenage groans. Water flows in and drains and the heating element works, it just doesn't do the important stuff like wash my dishes. My hands are not meant for washing dishes, please help.

Water supply to the dishwasher is done through an electromagnet valve, loocated at the pipe's enterance to the machine. Test that it get power (with a multi- meter). In case it get power and dosen't work - You can easyly open the valve and clean it (from scale or other dirt). Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from the machine before doing it !!!!! Check as well for valve's coil resistance. In case you have no resistance measurement - you should replace for a new valve. Good luck

Check to make sure there r no kinks’ in the drain line or that it is not clogged it sounds like the sensor is tripping because there is too much strain on the pump just like a breaker.

Easy one first try this to see if it helps
Water pre-heatingYour dishwasher may pre-heat the water. If so, and if the water entering the dishwasher is cool, the heater may take up to half an hour to heat the water.
To avoid the wait, increase the incoming water temperature before turning on the dishwasher. Do that by running the kitchen sink faucet until the water runs hot. Or increase the temperature of the hot water to the entire house at the hot water heater.
Warning! To lessen the risk of scalding, don't set the hot water heater temperature higher than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Has the door got any heavier, as mine started tripping the electrics when a spring broke and short circuited the connections.
f so you will have to get the spring out, from the underneath is best and replace it if you want the door to work correctly again. On mine the second one went a month later.

What is the model of the dishwasher? Open the door and look down the right hand side for a sticker and repost please. As a rule number 3 is a normal wash :D
