Question about LG KU990 Viewty
Is there a sequence that can trigger the flash into working
This worked for me: I turned the ISO to 800 and set the flash to "auto" - even in quite bright light the flash still goes off so I'd definitely try this. To turn the image stabiliszer off, press the "unlock" button next to the shutter on the side of the phone.

I also had the same problem but it appears that you have to turn off the image stabilizer for it to work.
Apparently, using image stabilizer prevents the flash from working. Since discovering this, my flash has worked at all times.

In camera mode, press the flash icon at the top right of the screen (the lightning bolt). If those icons are not appearing, press the middle of the screen.
Now you can either select 'Auto', which triggers the flash when there is not enough light detected, or you can select 'Red-eye reduction', which triggers the flash every shot. However there is no flash option if you are recording a video.
Hope that helps.
