Unfortunately i´ve already search at sony website, and they don´t have drivers updates for vista home premium only an uninstall tool: Uninstall Tool for Picture Package® and ImageMixer™ Version 1.5 Software The driver it suppose to come with vista but it doesn´t install automatically… Do you know if there’s a way to install it manually? I ve been looking for a way to make this camera compatible with Windows Vista Home Premium for a long time now and still haven't found it. This camera is definitely compadible with Windows XP though. Vista sux on this one!

Well the problem occurs to to driver, so first of all you can try to install driver of your camcorder into computer, you can follow the below link to download the driver -
according to this it is supported with windows vista but im not so sure. just use it on your own risk.
select an OS and download. install it to your pc and it should be working after that. hope that helps!
I had purchased the laptop with Window Vista Home Premium OS. I am unable to connect my Mini DV Sony DCR HC 40 E through firewire. the laptop doesn't recognise mini DV. Please suggest proper driver & solution
Good Day, you need to supply 4.5V DC regulated to the loading motor, however you should disconnect the connector from main board to loading motor, in order not to damage the driver IC. If your technically inclined, and you have the equipment, do it, if your not sure, just refer it to the nearest svc ctr. thanks
