Maytag gas dryer model # SDG305DAWW

When you first start dryer the igniter comes on and so does the gas. It will heat and dry for a while and the flame will go out. The igniter will glow again after awhile but the flame will not come back on and the dryer keeps running and running. If I stop the dryer for a while it will start the process all over again where it will start the first time correctly but will not relight after the first time

MAYTAG GAS DRYER MODEL SDG305DAWW. THE IGNIGHTER GLOWS BUT DO NOT REVEIVE A FLAME

Your igniter is working fine. The problem is the flame sensor needs to be replaced. The flame sensor is a safety feature. If it doesn't detect heat from the igniter it prevents the gas from flowing. A new flame sensor will cost about 30 - 35 dollars. You can buy on online here

Maytag Neptune MDG 5500 AWQ heats sporatically

your dryer has a safety feature that it will not run or heat when the door is opened. It is so no gas fumes are exhauseted into your home. Once the safety is engaged, It will not allow the dryer to restart for a short while. It should clear itself after only a few minutes. Hope this helps, good luck.
