Is it amber coloured? If it is have Auto Zone, Kragen or any chain parts store run a emission system trouble code test, then post the code back on this thread, let me know.
I had a similar problem with my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It turned out that the battery posts and cables were corroded. I cleaned them up and it solved the problem immediately. Something to check on before you spend the money on a new battery anyway!
