The needles on my Janome 9102D keep breaking

I had a problem with the overlocker just not doing anything right. I took it for service and then the thread in the bottom looper keep breaking free. That seemed to pretty well cure itself and in it's place the right hand needle kept breaking. It seems to be coming down in front of the upper looper rather than behind which then drives it into the presser foot. Then last night the left hand needle started to break or bend. I am careful to ensure they are seated properly but having replaced a dozen needles yesterday I am at my wits end.

The same thing happens to me sometimes. I take a deep breath and keep rethreading and replacing the needle until it works. I usually only have to replace a needle once and rethread it a million times, happens to me if the fabric is really thick, like denim. I've never taken it in, so I don't know what the real solution is, sorry.

I had a similar problem with my machine. What I've started doing with mine is setting the stitch length at 3 and the differential feed ratio at 1.0 then I set all 4 thread tensions at 3. I thread the machine from right to left, and then when everything seems to be working okay I take scrap material to test the tension and then set them to suit the material I'm using. Right now I'm working with a twill so my settings are 4-4-5-5. This seems to have stopped the thread slipping off the bottom looper and I haven't had any more needles break. I hope this is helpful.

My Janome Finesse 234 overlocker started to stop "looping" I cleaned, oiled & re threaded. It would start of fine but then the cotton on the needle would break or the loopers will stop stitching.

Two things make sure your threading it in the right order. your upper looper first then your lower looper then your needles. If your doing that then change your needles and if your using cheap thread on an overlock it just wont sew right. You need to use a good quality thread on overlocks. Hope that helps

I have a janome serger overlock 8002D the needle get caught on a bar on its way down and I won,t let it go down because the needles will break and I am frieghtend of doing damage to the looper

Be sure to install brand new needles. A bent/damaged needle could strike and break or cause damage.

Otherwise, you should probably take your machine for service.

Thread keeps breaking after a while on my overlocker

I would suggest checking the tension, it may be to tight

I would change the needles

I also would rethread the machine to make sure it's threaded right

if it continues I suggest to have it serviced

..the right needle thread keeps coming out and I

Sounds like you have a tension problem. Have you re-threaded? Check tension discs for bits of broken thread which may cause jamming. The thread must be catching somewhere. Pull it through by hand to see if it is too tight.

Light is on but won't sew

Sounds like either the foot control or the motor has failed. The foot control is the easiest to replace, you should be buy a replacement control for about 30.00.

My janome harmony 9102D serger I think is out of

i suggest you get a tech to re-time your machine. timing is complex on an overlocker and if not done correctly you will probably break a looper.
