Chk if the powersupply fan is spinning if not then chk the wall unit or chk the power cable you can try swaping it with the monitor and if possible open the tower and chk if there is any light on the motherboard and try to reset the atx connector on the motherboard (it is the power supply connector for the mother board it is a big connector with colourfull wires in it)

or

upplug the power cable from the tower and hold the power button for 10 sec and then connect the power cable back and try to turn on the system

Thnx

If your power supply receives power and still not turning on, that means the cable inside your CPU (called "IDE") might be the problem. all you have have to do is open your CPU. there is a connector there from your power supply to your hard drive and from your hard drive to your motherboard, see to it that it's properly connected. but if it can't be fixed anymore, better consult your technician.

tip

Computer won’t turn on

Computer won't turn on

This is probably the no.1 problem faced by many of us. To understand this problem, you can compare it to our human body.
When we are sick, we often get a fever. It's the body mechanism to fight infection. In the same way, when the computer faces any problem, it usually won't turn on until you fix that.
There are hundreds of reasons why a PC won't boot up. The issues can range from power supply failure to virus infection. Normally, by following the steps given below, your computer should be able to start.

Solutions:

1. Check the power supply

  • If it's a laptop, a loss of power could result from a battery that has completely run out of charge. So, the first thing to do is to plug it in and leave it to charge for a few hours. If that doesn't work, it could mean the charger is faulty, so, if you can try a different charger. If the charger has a power indicator, check whether it lights up when you plug it in.
  • If your PC is a desktop computer and doesn't start, check that it's not the plug socket at fault by plugging it into a different socket. If that doesn't work, it could be that the power supply in your PC has failed.

2. Make sure the monitor or display is functional

If you can see that your PC has power, because the fans start-up or the power lights come on, but nothing else happens, there are a couple of possible faults.
  • If you have a desktop PC connected to an external monitor, it could be the display that's faulty. Check the power connection to the monitor and that it's properly connected to your PC. Try disconnecting it and reconnecting it. If that doesn't work, try connecting a different monitor, if possible. That way you'll be able to either determine it's the monitor's fault or rule it out.
  • If you have a laptop, or if you've ruled out the external display, it could be that your PC is in sleep mode and is having trouble waking. To check that, shut it down completely and restart from cold. To do that, hold down the power button for 5 seconds and then press it again to start your PC.

3. Eliminate external hardware

If none of the steps above work, the peripherals could be the culprit. This could either happen because of electrical issues or external hardware failures.
After doing this, try restarting the system again to see if it works or not. If it doesn't, move on the next final step.

4. Reinstall system

If none of the steps work, the last thing you would want to do is to reinstall your Windows. Because till this point, you can be sure that it's the software and not a hardware issue.
Since you can't turn your computer on, there's no way to get access to your file. However, there are methods to backup your files from the hard drive. A clean installation will help to reset everything back to normal, should your system is infected or corrupted.

Try turning off the laptop, unplugging it, pulling out the battery and holding power down for 30-60 seconds. After that's done, put the battery back in, plug it back in, and turn it on.

PCV R44G, won't boot, no fans, won' turn on.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

No power to my desktop computer HP A1330N and no green light in the back of the power supply

You replaced power supply and your made sure you plugged everything back into the motherboard snuggly and in it's proper place? If so it might be your motherboard is bad.

Make sure you have the new power supply turned on. Sometimes there's a O/I switch on the back of the power supply. Flip it and try to boot and see what happens. You might have another bad power supply.
If so your motherboard might be burning them out.

Try removing the power cord for 30 seconds and press and hold the power button. After 30 seconds put the power cord back in and press the power button to see what happens.

Do your fans work when you press the power button? Do you hear any fans running?

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((MOTHERBOARD TO THE HARD DRIVE))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

This sounds like the power supply - before buying a new motherboard can you get voltages from the pin connectors that power the board? You can use a simple multi-meter - set to 12V and register the current.

Compaq Presario SR2150NX doesn't turn on. Front panel green light turns on but nothing else happens (no fans, no boot, no noise, nothing) Please advice

On the back of the Power Supply there should be a Green LED, When you power it on if it is flashing, this means that the Power Supply is dead and you need to replace it.

Testing a power supply

Most commonly it is the power supply. Rarely it is the motherboard when it just stops working with no other signs. You can take a power supply from another computer and test but I bet it is definitely the power supply. You can purchase a power supply tester for around $20 or so but you can get a power supply for not much more than that and test it that way.
