Get rid of the registry program. it's just junk. then go into my computer, system, hardware, find the cd drive in the list and remove the driver. restart the pc, the driver will re-install and the problem should be resolved. if not go here and follow the instructions for the removal of the bad entries.

Error code 19

If your computer's CD or DVD drive appears to be missing or corrupted and you've received a "Code 19" error message that says "Your registry might be corrupted," you can fix it by following some steps to modify the Windows registry. Note that while this process isn't particularly complicated, it does require that you are familiar with computers and know how to modify the Windows registry. If you aren't comfortable doing this, you should seek the help of a qualified computer professional to assist.

Click the "Start" button, click the "Run" option and then type "regedit" and click the "OK" button. Use the navigation pane on the left side of the window to navigate to the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Select the "UpperFilters" key in the right side of the window, then click the "Edit" button and then click the "Delete" option. Click "Yes" to confirm the deletion. Click the "LowerFilters" key, then select the "Edit" button and choose the "Delete" option again. Click "Yes" to confirm the deletion. Close the Registry Editor window and restart the computer to finish applying the settings that should fix the Code 19 error.

My cd rom in my computer hasnt worked for a while...recently my computer crashed so i thought it corrupted the cd rom but i swithched it with another cd rom from an old computer and it still doesnt work...

I just fixed a problem I had with my cd-rom where it wasn't burning my cd's. I downloaded the ASPI Driver for Windows from here and it fixed my problem. Without that driver, your cd-rom doesn't get fully reconized by the system basically. Let me know if this helps.

C0000218 Registry file failure. Registry cannot

The hive file is the problem, it is low on honey. Put it back to where the bees can produce enough honey for your PC to recognize it. Compaq's are notorious for their love of honey, that is why it is showing it is missing. DO NOT simply put honey on a CD and insert. Will not work.

When i turn on my computer i get a error message that the stystem registry data file is missing how do i restore the registry file?

Your system is corrupted. You need to reinstall it, but first backup your data. If you can't boot into the operating system, try a live CD, I would recommend you ubuntu live CD, download from ubuntu.org (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download), just insert it and reboot from the CD. Once the system is ready, you can copy your information to a CD/DVD and then try to reinstall the original operating system.

Crashed computer. \WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM is corrupt or missing. We dont have the original setup cd-rom. All we have is a windows xp disk for a different computer. Is there anyway this can work? I...

you have a registry problem! that could be result of a hardware problem.. there is a good article of things you can try, it's usually suggested for you use the same xp cd that you use to install the os, otherwise is risky business using a different cd... you may want to find a cd that has the same service pack you have before starting... if you can't get that cd, read my suggestiong below

http://www.help2go.com/Tutorials/Windows/C:%5Cwindows%5Csystem32%5Cconfig%5Csystem_missing_or_corrupt.html

I strongly suggest the following:
first of all if possible, take your hard drive out, using and enclosure or another machine try to back up your data so it things go wrong or it's just taking too much time, you can just wipe out the hard drive and start fresh with a clean install, you may find it this to be the easiest and fastest way... back up your data regardless then start troubleshooting.

Both cd drive are missing in "My Computer" say it is not working properly or is not presant. Give a Code 10 error

Hi, the error code that you have is a known issue from Microsoft that needs a registry tweaks. Error code is the same with error code 10 which means "Windows cannot load the device driver fro this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing (code39)".

To resolve this problem, remove the affected filter drivers. To do this, follow these steps:1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
2. Locate, and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Caution There can be many instances of the registry subkey that is mentioned in step 2. You must make sure that you are in the appropriate registry subkey before modifying the UpperFilters and the LowerFilters values. To verify that you are in the appropriate registry subkey, make sure that the Default data value is DVD/CD-ROM and the Class data value is CDROM.
3. In the right pane, right-click UpperFilters, and then click Delete.
4. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the UpperFilters registry entry.
5. In the right pane, right-click LowerFilters, and then click Delete.
6. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the LowerFilters registry entry.
7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

This will surely help you resolve your issue. Good Luck!!!

Thanks

Compaq Presario V6000

It actually sounds like you might have a hardware problem. If you're comfortable with opening the computer, remove any recently added hardware. If no hardware was added, then it may be necessary to remove each of the components in the following order and retest the boot process until it functions, and replace the last part removed.

Pressing F8 and/or reading the CDROM that early in the BOOT sequence is not possible, so it's in a hardware check.

Floppy, CDROM, SoundCard, Network Card, <any other cards>, extra RAM, except one or two to be able to boot.

It is also possible that either internally or externally, a cable may be loose. If you are able reseat all the cables, this may make it work. Stuff can come loose and the computer freaks out.

Lastly, if you feel like making sure that component is the problem, start plugging all pieces back in and all may work. This would mean that something was loose.
