Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook
I've had my laptop for three years with no problems at all, except that the battery doesn't hold a charge for more than 15 minutes.
I've made no changes to any settings, but suddenly I cannot access the Internet (wireless doesn't detect network connections) and I have no audio whatsoever.
Try doing the following:
1.) Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> Administrative Tools -> Services.
2.) Scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration, and double-click Wireless Zero Configuration.
3.) On the General tab, after Startup type, change the startup type to Automatic.
4.) Start the service by clicking Start.
Now try detecting the wirless network
Let us know if this works, and good luck!

Tips for a great answer:
and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP
Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support).
Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating
system when requested. Download and install the Audio drivers.
Try using the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've seen it solve many sound issues.
Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and
in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes).
Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download
and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It's
a very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formats
and media. It's totally FREE.
