    It is a Lenovo N200. The rescue and recovery option should only be triggered if booting the main hard-disk fails or F11 is pressed during startup - it is designed to access the factory restore HPA and to allow any backups or hardware tests to be run. Do you have the original set of restore discs? You can back up any contents by removing the drive and installing it into a SATA desktop as a slave drive.

I suggest pluggin into the machine a usb keyboard for now, see if you still have problems. if so let me know and we will go from there. i also suggest you see if your keyboard can at least get you into the bios. i believe you should be able to tap the f2 key to get into it. but your black startup screen should give you the correct key combination to load bios. from there go to load defaults and save and exit. then try your restart and see if things change. if not let me know

Good Luck!

    if you are getting that reboot forced option, your O.S. is corrupt from a possible hard drive error or damage to the mbr data. Your restore options also load off the same drivein the hidden partition. sounds like you just got a junk drive now, even if you try to restore with disks you are gonna have problems with the disk, Jardinuk's advice to backup data is right on, at this point i'd do that then chunk the disk and get a new one and start with that with the restore disks.

My asus f5rl keeps coming up with boot error 0xc000000f when turned on. How can i restore it please?

Before going any further, please help to confirm the following three points:

1. Does any other error message appear when starting the computer?

2. Did the computer start properly before?

3. Have any changes been made on the computer recently, such as an installation or upgrade?

The issue can be caused by many factors, such as incorrect BCD entries and incompatible hardware or software.

Based on the current situation, I suggest trying the following methods to troubleshoot the issue.

Method 1: Startup Repair from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)

===============================================================

1. Insert the Windows Vista installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.

2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ..." appears.

3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.

4. Click Repair your computer.

5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next.

6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on Repair your computer.

7. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.

8. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Startup Repair.

Can the computer be started now?

If the issue persists, I would like to confirm if System Restore was enabled before.

If so, we can try to restore the system to a state when your computer worked properly in WinRE.

Method 2: Use the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) to run System Restore

=======================================================================

1. Instert the Windows Vista installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer.

2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ...". appears.

3. Select a language, a time and currency, and a keyboard or input method, and then click Next.

4. Click Repair your computer.

5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, choose the drive of your Windows installation and click Next

6. At the System Recovery Options Dialog Box, click on System Restore.

7. Follow the System Restore Wizard instruction as usual and choose the appropriate restore point.

8. Click Finish to restore the system.
