Question about Toshiba Satellite A100-S8111TD Notebook
When i turn my laptop on the screen gets brighter buts stays blank. What do i need to do to start up in the safe mod. Or is there another way to fix this problem.
Try using an external monitor. If an external monitor works then the issue may be backlight if not then the issue is the LCD screen. the way to test that is after you have used an external monitor to verufy booting and the the system works. then if the machine is out of warranty you remove the bezel anf the screws holding the lcd in place. lean the lcd forward. with a flash light on turn your system on and flash the light through the display if you see your post and or windows with the flashlight then the baclight is bad. if not lcd is bad. If you can not get teh external monitor to work, then your motherboard is bad or graphics card.
