How can get inside again in the boot setup of a dell optiplex 170L?

Good Day,
That is quite an easy thing to do.
Immediately you turn on your PC, after displaying the brand (for some PC), the computer dispalys 'press F__ to enter boot setup'. If you can't get to read it, either press F2, F12, F10 or F1 continously after you turn on your system. Then you can make your corrections.
I hope this helps. Thank you for using Fixya.

My asus desktop with windows vista will not start up. I keep getting a black screen that tells me reboot and select proper boot device or insert media? What is wrong?

It means your system is trying to boot from somewhere other than your hard drive. Make sure you don't have a CD in the CD/DvD Drive. Also when you boot your system pay close attention to which key it says you can hit to change the boot sequence or boot order and which key it says you can select to go into the Bios or Setup. Boot the system the go into the BIOS or Setup. Go to the tab that allows you to select your boot order. Make sure your Hard Drive is selected as the first boot device. Try rebooting after saving and making this change.

My computer was slow, I installed antivirus and was able to clean up to 20 viruses, after restarting my computer, it keeps restarting every second! I can not access the desktop or my files. How can I...

One of the viruses may have infected your Start-up, shut-dowm and reboot files and that is why it keeps rebooting.
1) To recover the files all you've got to do is take out the hard drive.
2) Once you have taken it out you will need to plug it into another system (One that works properly). You may need to insert the slave jumper at the rear of the har drive (This depends if it's a IDE or SATA hard drive). If it's a SATA drive then don't worry.
3) Once you have plugged it into the other system you'll need to enter the BIOS by pressing the delete key on the keyboard.
4) Now navigate to drive start priority and set this drive as second or third priority. Then boot up the PC.
5) You should find that yor 'C' drive is now named something else and is accessable through the other computer (It should be detected like an external itself). Then you can copy any valuable files you want to your external.

I have pcchips m955g motherboard, comp reboots during

Hi,
If the computer keeps rebooting when you first start it up it is quite possible that the hard drive is broken. It keeps looking for the start up boot sector, but it's broken so it keeps trying again..and again...and well you know.

XP Keeps rebooting with LAN Cable connected

Have you tried going into the bios setup before windows loads up? You may have a setting to choose startup on lan. Just turn that off and hit F10 and enter.
To enter the bios setup keep pressing delete after truning on the computer until the bios screen appears. Don`t change anything unless you know what you are doing.
