Welkin DVD player; Can't get Key Lock Off without remote

I recently 'inherited' a Welkin T123 DVD player. The remote control was nowhere to be found.

There is a DVD in the machine and when I switch it on, the menu for the movie shows ok.

A message on the bottom left of screen says 'Key Lock On'.

None of the buttons on the machine respond; eject, stop, play, nothing works.

How do I get key lock off without a remote please?

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for posting. My ideal solution would not involve spending money on a universal remote. The machine itself is quite old and probably not worth spending too much on.

I have tried all the combinations of buttons on the box I can think of. e.g. hold eject while power off/on. hold first button on the box while pressing each of the others in turn. hold second button on box, while pressing all others in turn etc.

As you say, you can't have to use the remote, but does anyone know the way to unlock it without a remote?

Thanks again for posting the helpful reply.

What's your problem?LOST WELKIN DVD PLAYER REMOTE MODEL NO T506 DO YOU KNOW REMOTE CODE PLEASE

Google the model number if you have a universal for "manual" Note that you are always better with an original as universals will not program for all models or have all the key features needed if do.

I have a remotec F-BW0930 and the code for AWA dvd players 00375 does not work, I have an AWA DP220, do you know the code?

I don't have other code for your DVD but I can give you the steps on how to program your remote to your DVD without the list of codes.

1. Turn on your DVD.
2. Press the DVD Mode Key.
3. Hold down SET on the URC for 2 seconds until the indicator lights up.
4. Enter 0005. The indicator should go out immediately.
5. Press the DVD Mode Key again as in step 2.
6. Hold down SET for 2 seconds until the indicator lights up and your URC is ready to start searching.
7. Aim the URC at your DVD, press the power key repeatedly, slowly until the DVD has been turned off. Once your DVD has been turned off, immediately press SET to lock in code and the indicator should go out.

Inherited a flat screen tv without remote. cannot search for channels. dvd player is black and white with red, yellow, white cables. ugh.

You need to invest in a univeral controller. You can either order one onlne or go to a local store and purchase one. The controller instructions will give you the correct codes to access your TV controls. I don't understand your comment about black and white on the DVD player. Are you having problems hooking up the DVD to the TV? Most problems will be cleared up after you get a remote. If you need a user manual for the TV let me know the model number and we can find the correct source. Thanks.

I have a rca universal remote control also a cody dvd player.

Hi freeent316,

Unfortunately, the RCA 15-2104 does not have a code for Cody brand DVD players. The list of codes can be found at the following web address:

http://support.radioshack.com/support_video/doc67/67141.htm

Since there is no published code for Cody brand devices, I recommend using the CODE SEARCH function. Here's how:

1) Turn on the DVD player
2) Press the DVD key on the remote
3) Hold down P until the red light blinks twice
4) Press 9-9-1 (the red light will then blink twice).
5) Slowly alternate between pressing the DVD key and the POWER key - when the device turns off, that means the remote has found a code for the DVD Player and should then operate it.

You can read the details about the CODE SEARCH feature in the user manual, which can be viewed at the following web address:

http://support.radioshack.com/support_video/doc66/66339.pdf

I hope this helps - please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
