Question about Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera
This is my SECOND Canon PowerShot A520, and its got the same problem as my first one. My dad got me it for christmas the year before this past christmas, and it died on me about 4 months later. No batteries would work, even fresh alkaline ones. Nothing happened to it, never dropped, no water splashed on it, nothing. We called to see if we could get it repaired (the website says they will fix it free of charge. BS.), and the person told us it would be less expensive to buy another. so we did, and four months later, BAM. Same exact problem. no batteries will work. sometimes i can turn it on and look through past pictures and edit my settings, but when i switch it to take pictures, it says "change the batteries". so i do, and the same things happen. If you are thinking about buying this camera, id suggest finding a different kind, because my friend also has the same camera, and the same exact problems. If any one has had these problems and has worked them out WITHOUT spending tons of money, Pleaaassee help.
Have you tried cleaning the battery terminals in the camera with some very fine emery paper or sand paper? Especially if you live in a humid environment.
